Northern california fires
So woke up at like 2am thinking my ac was smoking, opened my window and nothing but smoke everywhere. Giant fires all around Santa Rosa the city next to my town and the city I work in. Sounds like my work burned to the ground along with many places. Waiting on evac notices hoping wind doesnt spread it more. Sun starting to come up and it looks like the sky is on fire. Wish me luck.

Re: Northern california fires
Well winds have been so bad that they couldnt even try to fight it as it spread throughout the city, just evac'd everyone. A lot of our famous buildings are gone and schools. Had to evac two hospitals also. My mom who lives in another town just got an evac notice. Saw a video of the kmart next to my job burn to the ground and theyre pretty sure my work is also gone. Fires now surrounding our town and waiting to find out if we have to leave. Sitting around waiting is worst part.

Sad to hear this. Good luck. I don't think there is much we can do, but let us know if you need anything.

I just saw the wildfires on the Weather Channel. What's up with the weather this year? Stay safe.

Wow. I don't watch a lot of news, so didn't realize the Nor Cal fires were so intense. Hope you're safe.

Re: Northern california fires
Well been intense here lol, looking better now tho! Just needs winds to stay low and not blowing north
Found out my job was 1 of like 3 buildings that made it untouched in that area so still have a job. Cant say the same for many people sadly, it looks like a warzone here. My whole town looks like winter, dark smoke filled skies, smoke so thick you cant see down the streets, ash like snow everywhere, its crazy. Thanks for the support! Have all my important things packed and ready to be safe, including my Usagi collection lol. If anyone else is from norcal stay safe. Will post pics when things calm down.

Re: Northern california fires
Dear Jared, Thanks for the update. Glad you still have a job. Sorry about all the destruction and suffering in your community. I have a friends whose parents' home burned down. They were evacuated and are safe, which is what really matters. Still, the suffering is real. Take care of yourself. Peace, maka

I saw some of the video footage on the late news here, looks intense. So many fires in California, pretty much a yearly thing

Re: Northern california fires
Yeah man, been having heli's flying past my apartment all day super low its surreal. The damage around here does look like a movie, like we just got bombed or something. Winds keep screwing everything up with constant evac order changes. Waiting to hear if one of the fires a few miles away is going to move towards us again and if so we have to leave.jabba359 wrote:Wow, it doesn't even look real. It looks like a movie or something.
