I'm really intrigued by this character. Excuse me if he has been explained, I am without a comic store so I can only buy the volumes.

Sasuke may or may not be based on Shoki the demon queller, a character who appeared a lot in old japanese paintings. Shoki was an aspiring scholar who commited suicide because he failed the imperial examinations, and in gratitude for receiving a good burial started protecting people from demons.
