The three certainties in life... death, taxes, and Stan attending SDCC :P

I don't think this has been posted here yet:Image
"This exhibit offers an inside look at the work of Stan Sakai, creator of Usagi Yojimbo, by examining the creative process and cultural influences of this popular artist that has turned his character into a pop culture icon. Stan Sakai will be on hand to unveil the exhibit, “The Art of Stan Sakai.” Refreshments will be served. To attend this free event, register online."

Here's the direct link to both Stan Sakai events: https://secure.rec1.com/CA/temecula-ca/ ... FuK3Nha2Fp

I've registered to go on Thursday, August 30th. My daughter is dealing with some health issues but she seems to be responding to treatment, so I hope to still make this. Stan is also scheduled to do an art workshop at the Museum in September. I can't make that one but hopefully some of you can.

Peace, maka

If a few of you are intending to make it to the reception, you can spend the night at our house (as we did for the San Diego exhibit). We won't be able to accommodate a lot, though. If there is more than would fit into our small hovel, we will arrange for an AirB&B.

Of course, this offer only extends to the Dojo members (and perhaps family).

Thanks Stan! We’ll connect with the usual suspects (Kyle, Adriel, Daniel, Michael) but it might be challenging given a lot of them might have to work on Friday. If anyone else here is interested, pm me so we can get a head count for Stan. Stan, thanks again for your generous offer.

Peace, maka

Unfortunately, we will not be able to host the Dojo members who come to the opening of my exhibit at the Temecula Valley Museum. Julie's dad has a health issue which requires us to drive in to LA early Friday morning. However, we will arrange for an alternate housing arrangement for those who will be there.

Thanks Stan,

Everyone says to send Julie, her dad, and your whole family the best.

We still look forward to seeing you at the event if you are still going. It is completely understandable if you can't.

Peace, maka

Dear Stan.

As Maka mentioned, we send our best wishes to all of you, especially Julie and her dad!
Several of us are still planning to attend Thursday's event, and we hope to see you there, but I think we completely understand if you can't attend.

Regards,
~ maichan
