I have a couple unsigned, including yours.Gaffey wrote:Ha! We all had the same idea.jabba359 wrote:Picked up the Dogu Chibi covers today for our order. If you requested the signatures/remarques on the back (and this includes me), sorry, but they're all on the front. I think that's just how they do them.
EDIT: Just to be sure, I decided against signatures and remarques because I wanted to keep the cover clean. I'll survive if you bought me a signed copy. I can't find my wishlist.

AOD cover arrived while I was away at SDCC and all look to be in good condition.

Re: IDW Usagi Yojimbo #1 variant group ordering
I see Heroes has put theirs on "sale". Prices before the convention were $10 (color) and $15 (b/w). They didn't want me to clear out their limited webstore supply before HeroesCon with a big order, so said they'd set them aside and I could buy them after. After the convention, I haven't been able to get a reply until last week and prices had jumped to $20 (each, color or b/w) in the meantime. Now that they're on sale for $15 each (both versions), I may just order them off the website since they haven't gotten back to me as promised, even though I've emailed them again a couple days ago. I think I'd rather pay an extra $5 for the pair over the pre-order price and guarantee getting them, than wait to see if they'll give me a better deal. I'll give it another day, but if I don't hear back I think I'll order on Friday morning regardless.

Second run was damaged also. They found the problem and will do another run...jabba359 wrote:Email update from Slab City:
FIRST A UPDATE FOR USAGI YOJIMBO #1 THANKS FOR YOU PATIENCE ON THIS BOOK..... IT IS BEING RE PRINTED AS WE SPEAK BY IDW SO HOPING TO GET THIS BACK IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS......
UPDATE EMAIL FROM IDW Publishing
So, there’s good news and bad news. The good news is, after some investigation, we finally determined with the printer where the problem came from with the damages for your Usagi #1 cover.
The bad news: Before we found the problem, your reprinted copies of Usagi #1 got just as damaged as the 1st batch, and we only discovered it now when they landed in the U.S. So, we’re not shipping these out.

We’re determined to get this Stan Sakai cover out to you guys so we will be seeing this through.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
Anyone wanting a refund please email us at info@slabcitycomics.com
Will update when I know a date for the next batch
Apologies,
Matt

I was walking my dog this morning and a very important question popped into my head.* Do we know the print run for issue 1? It would be interesting to know the Retailer Incentive print runs. The Eastman variant is still easily available so there must have been more printed than I originally thought.
*Ok, it's not that important

The RE variants are probably 500-1000 each, depending. You have to also note that this counts as "ordering", so the retailers would have had the opportunity (and I believe Slab City did if not others) to then order the incentives on top in the correct ratio. So a retailer getting 1000 copies of their own requested variant would have also had the chance to order 20 copies of Kevin's cover (20 x 1:50 = 1000). This is why Kevin's cover is more common that you may have envisaged.Gaffey wrote:I was walking my dog this morning and a very important question popped into my head.* Do we know the print run for issue 1? If you mean cover A only, then not sure heh.

Didn't order the HeroesCon covers yet because they said they'd to get back to me this week, so hopefully I'll have them ordered and on the way soon!

No. I keep bugging them about it, they keep telling me they'll get to it soon, then I bug them again, they say they'll get to it soon, then I bug them again...Gaffey wrote:Did they get your order out to you?jabba359 wrote:Didn't order the HeroesCon covers yet because they said they'd to get back to me this week, so hopefully I'll have them ordered and on the way soon!

Re: IDW Usagi Yojimbo #1 variant group ordering
I finally gave up on Heroes getting back to me so just placed an online order for all the copies without any additional discount. I should have put in the big order when they first put them up online instead of waiting, even if it had cleaned out their online inventory, as it would have saved $5 per set. Oh well, I guess that's the price for being considerate
. I figured buying now was a better option than waiting longer and longer and potentially not being able to get them at all.
So now it's just a wait for those to ship and for Slab City to get their replacement replacements and then I can finally get this wrapped up and the rest of everybody's comics shipped to them.
