The Music of Heaven ends with Usagi telling Omori Kazan's grave that he will report his death to one of his sect's temples and give them his Shakuhachi (bamboo flute).
In the next story, The Gambler, the Widow, and the Ronin, Usagi is still in possession of the Shakuhachi and learns that there is a temple in the next valley. He is warned to be careful as he travels there though as there are bandits about. The story seems to end with Usagi departing to the neghboring valley
The next story to feature Usagi, Gamblers, makes no mention of the Shakuhachi but there is mention of a group of bandits existing in the area. Presumably these are the same bandits mentioned in The Gambler, the Widow, and the Ronin but then again there are an awful lot of bandits in Usagi's world. This story ends with General Fujii stealing Usagi's swords. The recovery of said swords is the focus of the next few stories, Daisho and Mongrels, and then Usagi seems to return to his wandering ways.
So my question is did Usagi ever return Omori Kazan's Shakuhachi? Did I just forget it happen or is it still to come (I am only in the first third of Saga Book 3)?

One of the problems of being a person who read these issues when they came out is it has been many years since I have read these. They sound vaguely familiar but I really don’t remember the details. But what is cool about this dojo is that some people here are very good at details.
But I might take a look at the stories you referenced. Maybe that will refresh my old mind. If nothing else, I can see what you are reading and enjoy them as you are again.
. Peace, maka
