Very disappointing . . . was *anyone* from the Dojo successful? If so, they probably snagged two copies, maybe there will be some horse-trading on the forum? I know I would swap for any of the earlier variant covers . . .

I was not able to get any. Like everyone else, they were gone before I could even blink.

I have not checked the UY Facebook groups yet, so maybe someone there was lucky.

I think I was able to get the maximum qty of the TMNT 2020 Annual on Monday though. I'm still waiting to make sure that order will ship, and not get cancelled. If I do receive them, they are available to Dojo members for cost plus shipping. So if anyone is interested, I'll follow up once I'm more certain.

I was so flustered with the process that I completely forgot that I also wanted the Canto & the Clockwork Fairies comic.

I think the mistake we all made was changing the qty to 2 instead of just buying 1.

I don't read the Turtles on a monthly basis so do you know what they mean by "Splinter is gone, the Turtles are in disarray?" Did they kill off Splinter? Some sort of Death of Superman money grab?

I don't know. I stopped reading TMNT a long time ago.

The only reason I even tried to get the TMNT Annual was
1) because Usagi wasn't available,
2) the TMNT Annual was available, and I figured if I can get it I can try to help out any needy TMNT fans.

Yep, this was so ridiculous. I even 'pre-ordered' one on eBay last week from a seller for $50 just in case I was stuck at work this morning and guess what, my 'pre-order' was cancelled moments after they sold out on IDW today. Of course, why would you sell it for $50 when you can get $600?
Good grief. It will eventually level off in price like all SDCC stuff but it will still be a few hundred bucks even then I imagine. Rats.

No, it's because the seller sold ten believing they'd get ten and then it was limited to two only per person. I saw that pre-order listing and knew it wouldn't end well.

Wouldn't have mattered. It checks the remaining inventory once you get past the address screen and hit the payment screen. If there's still stock, it reserves it for you then. So you didn't have to rush through paying to secure the basket contents, it was already reserved for you at that point.

You're absolutely correct. I was the first to order 'only one' from that eBay seller last week and just had higher hopes not realizing that it would be what it is. I was told it was a first come, first serve preorder by the seller and being the very first one to order only one copy from the seller (the other 9 were purchased in groups, 3 for 3 more buyers,) I thought my chances were still solid even after the limit was changed to 2. I just try to get everything for the collection. I should've been thinking clearer on it then and just saved my time. Live and learn! With the announcement of the animated series, lots of great Usagi books coming and Ghost of Tsushima to play, the glass is always half full.

Indeed, and props to him for getting that far that quickly. Some of the resellers on eBay are comic dealers apparently so it’s all a bit peculiar.

This completely. Two copies sold on eBay from the same seller at $500 within minutes of them being listed, within minutes of IDW being out of stock. I don’t believe that for a minute. This professional flippers know exactly what they are doing. This book will settle lower as somehow I suspect most of the 200 copies will be sold as it looks like very few ended up in fans hands in the first place.

That TMNT annual cover. Are the TMNT wearing facefasks? How 2020. They don’t look like they are socially distancing though.

I know many missed out on the variant cover (I had one in my cart but screwed around trying to order two) - didn't get any. HOWEVER - hidden in the IDW site is the comic con at home edition w SIGNED Sakai bookplate of Bunraku. I actually think this might be a HC version of the book.
