Three Usagi/Stan Sakai Ringo Awards
I watched the Ringo Awards live tonight. I thought it was delightful. I’m glad they made it live streaming for everyone to see.
Grasscutter won for best design presentation.
Usagi #6 won for best single story.
Stan won for best cartoonists.
Stan was very surprised to win the last two and his reaction was great when they read his name.
Congratulations to Stan. In 2020, a lot had gone wrong. But it on the right side of things, it really seems like a good year for the cartoonist, Stan Sakai! Really happy for you Stan!
Peace, maka

That’s a lot of awards, congrats!
With a breeze comes a storm, but then you'll all be washed away...

Re: Three Usagi/Stan Sakai Ringo Awards
Thank you all. I could not have achieved these recognitions but for very enthusiastic and long time readers like you on the Dojo Boards.
I missed the Best Presentation Award because the Ringo ceremony was running short. The first speaker had twenty minutes but he thought he only had two, so they were playing catch up all night. This is the first time they had done this as a live stream and there were some minor bugs, but overall it went really well. I did not get to see the ceremony as I was waiting in the virtual "Green Room", inking pages for UY 17 while there.
Yes, I was very surprised when I received the Best Cartoonist Award. I was sure Raina would get it. She is very talented and is with Scholastic which sells huge numbers. She beat both Sergio and me for an Eisner a few years ago.

The Sergio
Each year CAPS hosts a banquet in honor of a writer, cartoonist, or someone in a related field who has had an impact upon our industry. Members and guests travel far and wide to hear guest speakers, see special presentations, eat some good food and rub elbows with colleagues at these wonderful evenings. Over the years, folks such as Will Eisner, Gil Kane, Bil Keane, Jack Kirby, Dave Stevens, Paul Dini, Ray Bradbury, Mell Lazarus, Fred Willard, Jonathan Winters, June Foray, Dan Spiegle, Bill Melendez, Drew Struzan and many other great folks have attended these events.
After many years of many wonderful banquets, CAPS gave a name to the proceedings in 2006 – The Sergio Award. Named after one of CAPS’ co-founders, Sergio Aragonès, The Sergio was first given to the great Jack Davis, with Sergio himself receiving the second trophy that same night. CAPS takes great pride in bestowing this wonderful trophy to a well-deserved guest each year since.

Who have been the other recipients of this prestigious award? I can't seem to find an answer, other than:Steve Hubbell wrote:...The Sergio was first given to the great Jack Davis, with Sergio himself receiving the second trophy that same night.
