I have all Corto Maltese adventures (in french), it is a must have for any comic lover !

If you like big classic adventures (think R.L. Stevenson, F. Cooper or J. Conrad) and solid B&W art (think M. Caniff) you will adore Corto Maltese. Hugo Pratt is a comic master of the same importance than Will Eisner. It is great to see his work translated in english.

Corto Maltese is a terrific series. I have the English language editions that came out about 20 years ago (I think from NBM).

Hmm, it looks like there are some serious problems with this new edition, unfortunately (via Heidi McDonald [@comixace] on Twitter):

^Read someone on the CBR boards say the fault doesn't really lie with the US publisher, that these reformatted version were actually done in Europe.

*EDIT* Apparently Pratt himself was behind the reformatting. Worked on it in the early '90s in order to make the books fit a more marketable format. Check out the responses to the first negative review on the amazon page.
