I've created a Usagi boot panel for use with Mac OS 10.1.5 or 10.2. It is available at http://homepage.mac.com/jennifermorales If you need instructions on how to install a boot panel, check out http://www.resexcellence.com/user_X_boot.shtml Let me know if there are any questions and I hope you enjoy!

Usagi and Penguin
What are the requirements as far as size and format go? Find me a good sized appropriate Linux penguin graphic and I'll see what I can come up with! For BSD folks if you send me a devil/devil-platypus guy, I'll see what I can do with that too.
Aaron, if you like I can make a regular JPG of the boot panel and you can post it somewhere on the site.

Yes, a JPG would be great. I'll try to come up with an image of a pinguin that fits my ideas...

couldn't get Mac OS X boot panel to work.
I followed the instructions on ResExcellence, but still couldn't drop the boot panel into my resources folder. What gives? It says "you cannot modify the resources folder", etc. Help! -Jason-san

Boot Panel
If you're doing it through the Terminal.app, you need to be the Root user. You can do this by typing sudo -s [return]. It will ask you for a password--put in your administrator password that you set when you created the account on your Mac. You should see your prompt change into a #. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Re: Usagi and Penguin
As for the Penguin, try http://themes.kde.org/content/show.php?content=1791 and other posts by "Klowner". Format can be JPG or PNG. Size: Any standard size should go. Maybe 800x600 with a regular border (so you can center it on a mono-color background) would be great. When the image is ready, I'll post some instructions as how to install them on Linux with KDE.jenorama wrote:What are the requirements as far as size and format go?
