Looks pretty cool, we still won't know definitively if Noriko is alive until we get to read the whole issue...although from the issue description seems like she might??
We'll all find out soon enough on Nov 30th!

That is pretty much the biggest axiom in comic books too..."If there is no body, that means he or she can and no doubt will come back..."JediFraz wrote:Unless you can see the dead body, I wouldn't count her as dead. But then I watch far too many horror films..
The Norik-ster will return...and thank goodness...I just love the nutter ladies.

Imagine Noriko squaring off against Inazuma....both would be closely matched. It's obvious that Noriko can best Tomoe, or at least equal her skill. And we both know Tomoe and Usagi are equals, at least according to Tomoe's Story. And according to Stan, Inazuma can best Usagi....a great match up indeed...maybe one day??
They would probably end up joining forces. Now THAT would be scary.Todd Shogun wrote:Imagine Noriko squaring off against Inazuma....both would be closely matched. It's very unconventional for such a great deal of time (and story) to be given over to an antagonist. My guess is Stan wanted to portray Noriko's sheer, overwhelming need to simply survive, and how her desire for survival goes hand-in-hand with her psychotic hatred of Tomoe. Also, to be trapped alongside with Noriko in the mines allows the reader to experience what Noriko is experiencing - to make her a more personable character, despite of how thoroughly loathsome she might be. When there's no one within a sequence except the reader and a single character, a comic almost becomes interactive - to a degree, we become Noriko. (Come to think of it, we're actually more Tomoe than Noriko in this scene, since we're "dreaming" Noriko's escape along with Tomoe, and we're both unsure as to whether or not Noriko is truly dead.)
