Hey guys, Just wanted to share a photo of the REAL Usagi Actually Usagi and I had met way back in 96 in a pet store In Boston mass. He was guarding his brother of the same litter who was backed into the corner, from a group of guinea pigs. It was quiet the scene. So after letting the store owner know the issue and making sure his brother was safe I quickly purchased my new friends living items and happily left with a dwarf bunny by my side. At the time I had just started reading Usagi Yojimbo and was also following the path of AIKIDO (which I continue to follow). So being the lighter colored rabbit and protecting his brother from the fiendish Guinea pigs, I felt that the name Usagi Yojimbo (Rabbit body guard) was perfect for the little guy. Hence began a seven year friendship between Samurai and Dwarf rabbit. He's getting old and I fear will not be with us much longer but he has lived a very full life and has traveled many places that some dwarf rabbits could only dream of. Thanks Stan for a great story line and thanks guys for having a place I can share my old friends photo!

Yesterday night some of my friends and I were having a party at my place, and I discovered that I could put a 2 liter bottle of Coke on my forehead for over 15 minutes while I was sitting on the couch and playing one of those games on which someone says a word and the next person in line adds another one to make a sentence with some meaning until someone does a mistake. Unluckily I don't have any pictures proving it.
The next step would be holding only with my forehead the brown and white rabbit from the picture while the rabbit itself was holding the toilet paper roll at the same time that I play Battlefield: 1942 (and piloting a Japanese Zero airplane). Now that would be hard .
Probably some of you are going to hate me for this, and will think that I'm some sort of barbaric caveman, but did you know that rabbit actually tastes really good? You cook it in the oven with some sauce (my mom makes a great one with tomatoes and onions) for some time and it's ready to go! Maybe I cand find the recipe somewhere and post it here... . Of course, I don't go around stealing pet rabbits to eat them (you don't know how their masters have feeded them ), and I don't think of dinner every time I read UY. But still, If you hace the chance, you should give it a try

Wonderful pictures. Sharon used to work at a parent co-op preschool and they had a few rabbits over the years. I remember one named Thumper who broke his foot while trying to get out of his cage one night. Sharon found him the next morning and took him to a vet (most vets will not take in rabbits). Anyway, Thumper got a cast on his foot. He turned out to be the sweetest rabbit I ever met. He love to be held.
I accompanied Sharon when Thumper got his cast cut off. He screamed for joy when he found he could hop around again. That was the only time I ever heard a rabbit make that noise.

Well, a while ago, I was wondering if Usagi would eat rabbit stew given the chance but Stan avoided the answer...

Wow, I've never heard that.
About ten years ago I had a lop-eared rabbit that would grunt and thump his hind legs before he ran towards me. It probably had something to do with his love for lamp and stereo chords.
Hey guys, Just an update. As of today April 30th Usagi after living Seven years and a month has passed away. I was going to head to work but felt deep down to stay home do to Usagi not feeling good lately and having a sense that this was it. By 10:00 I had him at the vet and by 3:00 in the afternoon My wife and I received the phone call we dreaded. He passed away from old age. He lived a very great and adventurouse life for a Dwarf Rabbit. We burried him on my Sensei' land in the mountains of the North East Kingdom. He will have the rising sun every morning upon his resting place. I have a couple more photo's of him to share and once I learn how to post them on my messages here I will gladly put them up for your enjoyment! He will be missed and was a dear friend and companion.

Post them as soon as you can .
