I've been reading UY since mid-way through the Fantagraphics run, and don't plan on stopping!

Okay...here's the link. You want to view "ninja turtles at comic con"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ldrs5_k ... omic%20con
Go watch if you want! Enjoy I hope!
We got emails from Kevin E. today and Dan B. at Mirage that they all apparently enjoyed it.
I will try to get the few pics I posted up and shared soon. Because most of my Con was about getting the TMNT Leo costume and skit done, and the Kenshin costume done, I didn't get around as much as usual to either panels or picture taking.

The guy next to him is Billy Ott, Matthew's friend and classmate who is also into Usagi. They both had summer school, so were at Comic-con only for the weekend.Todd Shogun wrote:FanFan: Yes that's Matt Sakai in Mayhem's group shot. The guy sitting to the left of him was a friend of his. He has also signed up with the UYD and his username here on the DojoBoard is Rennic.
The comic-con may seem like the "ultimate", but it does have it's downsides...over 100,000 of them actually! Yes I do speak of the crowds and crowds of people that seem to be doubling up every year! If you can handle wall-to-wall people, then you'll survive...but after 4 days it does begin to hurt! What happened to the good old days when you could actually walk 50 ft and it didn't take a half an hour? They really should consider placing a limit on how many people attend.

Summer school, hmmm, we don't have that here... what do you do in summer school ?They both had summer school, so were at Comic-con only for the weekend.
thanks for your commentary, i didn't aware of the exponential problem of visitors, we don't really see this on the photos. It is hard to visualize how big is the con.The comic-con may seem like the "ultimate", but it does have it's downsides...over 100,000 of them actually! In summer school here, Matthew took one class--biology. It is a 5-week intensive class, 5.5 hours a day, 5 days a week. They cover the entire school year, so if he misses more than two days he would fail the class and would have to retake it. But he will not have to take it during the regular school year.Fanfan wrote:

Comic-con closed registration on Friday afternoon, and closed its on-site registration on Saturday. So make sure you preregister if you ever consider attending.
The biggest congestion was in the middle of the Dealers' Hall where all the major publishers and movie and toy companies were located. If you wanted to get to one end of the hall to the other, you could bypass the congestion by exiting the hall and walking through the convention center lobby.

I'm experimenting at Photobucket-- thank Goodness for the digital age, I have over a hundred undeveloped rolls of film and disposable cameras that I have collected since the early 90s-- so many Convention pictures that I have taken and never developed! 17 of them here...
OOOO congrats to D. Schultz!
And OOOOOO!!! I sure am glad I preregistered! I had heard that Sat. they quit letting people in for a while...

I heard that as well actually. I also heard from someone that there may have been over 150,000 people through the doors this year, which is staggering considering it just about broke the 100k mark last year. No wonder they had to shut it off on Saturday if that is true.cynlee wrote:And OOOOOO!!! I sure am glad I preregistered! I had heard that Sat. they quit letting people in for a while...
Which is why for the most part I spent Saturday in the halls listening to people instead

Considering the queues I saw on Saturday for people to register to get in, it is definitely worth just pre-booking the whole event in advance!

If you want pics-- do I just what, email the url?

I wish I'd gotten a much better pic of him, but someone had already asked him to stand for a shot, and I missed my chance for that one.
Strange-- whenever I see it, all I can think of is Stan's Lone Goat and Kid...
