And what about going to Berlin for a little sight-seeing (and maybe a signing date at one of the great comic shops there) ? It would be a pleasure to have you here....

Btw, three weeks can be close to nothing, if you want to take a look around. But there's always the problem with deadlines...

So, if you feel inclined to make a trip to Berlin, I would do my best to have the red carpet ready
Greetings from overseas

Thank you, Thomas, and welcome to the Dojo. I have never been to Germany, but would very much enjoy visiting some day.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to do so during this trip. I did get an invitation from a bookstore in Frankfurt, but it seems my time in Belgium and France is already quite full.

Perhaps I will get invited next year. I usually announce my travels far in advance, so keep checking the Dojo.

Neat posters.

The art for the second one was made for UY 100 from Dark Horse. The banner that Jotaro is waving has the kanji for hyaku, or "100". I don't think Inspector Ishida has been introduced to the French market.

But, really neat posters.

I am glad you will make a signing in Arkham. I suggested this comicbook store to Paquet, because people from Arkham are true fans of US comics, i discovered Usagi thanks to them and it is a small comic bookstore but with great signings. I remember years ago it was the only place where HR Giger made signing in Paris, recently David Lloyd was there, and after you there will be Tara McPherson.

A translator will be there for your fans, moreover people will be able to have a signing without buying in Arkham... really cool guys !

the Art of the first print is taken from the french Edition.

About Inspector Ishida, UY vol 9 will be only released for your coming.

Ok,
I just organized my flight to Paris and will be there ( Arkham) on Saturday, 28th of october to meet Stan Sakai.... I can hardly believe it, *giggle* I feel like a teenager going to his first concert
Ah, and of course I'll bring my favorite TPB to have it signed...

Does anybody in this forum will be there, too? What about you, Fanfan?? Would be nice to see the face behind the name and maybe have drink or two to celebrate the event ?!

Then I'll meet you that Saturday, Thomas. Fanfan will certainly be there with all the girls from the French Dojo (that's what he said to me, anyway... :P )

A drinking session could be organized at the Manga Café, but don't expect some kind of Oktoberfest. Maybe you should bring some beer.

Oh, by the way, shall you speak English ? Fanfan complained that the girls couldn't speak it properly. :)

Sure, but I'll have to take the photographs before I see double and my hands become shaky. What a shame Robweiller doesn't come, in France we have an expression : "to be drunk like a Pole" (sorry, Rob... )

maybe you got me wrong a bit; I prefer soft drinks, otherwise I'll pretty soon get sick.... I'm not typically German when it comes to being fond of beer, you know

Anyway, my return flight goes at 07:00 on 29th of october, so I should be seeing straight then... I've never been sick on a plane yet, and I'd rather not be...

[quote="Cosmo"]Oh, by the way, shall you speak English ? Fanfan complained that the girls couldn't speak it properly. :)

Well, you see....
my French is almost non-existent; Years ago I wanted to ask staff at a railway station (Gard du Nord) in Paris how and where I could get a train to Bordeaux; I tried my very best with the little French I knew, but still her face showed those strange expressions you get when biting and sucking a particularly sour lemon. Needless to say, she answered my question, but used English rather than French...

My wife has some objections about somebody bringing girls around (like food or drink), but I hope to convince her that, yes, there might be some female comic fans on this planet.

"All the girls from the French Dojo"? Erghm... does it mean... both of them?
Cosmo wrote:Sure, but I'll have to take the photographs before I see double and my hands become shaky. What a shame Robweiller doesn't come, in France we have an expression : "to be drunk like a Pole" (sorry, Rob... )

No offence taken. We know that expression here and we're kind of proud of it. And I'm a proud son of my nation, if you know what I mean... People say I'm cute when I'm drunk.

But let's see... 10/28? Plenty of time to book a ticket and torment Fanfan to host me. Maybe I'll drop in, although I have lots of expenses this month, so I'm not promising anything :?
