Hi. I'm new to Usahi Yojimbo. I've been trying to collect info on the net, and while Wikipedia is a great resorce, I actually need to ask real readers.
Who are the main characters, and main villians?
I put together this list
Good
- Usagi
- Gennosuke
- Tomoe Ame
- Lord Noriyuki
- Jataro
- Inspector Ishida
- Katsuichi
Bad
- Jei
- Komori Ninja
- Neko Ninja
- Shingen
- Yagi
- Lord Hikiji
- Lord HebI
????
- Chizu
- Inazuma
Is that pretty close? Are there any characters there that, for instance, only appeared in one story or something like that.
Any major or important characters that should be listed?
I know characters aren't always pigion-holed, but, in general, are characters like Chizu and Inazuma good or evil.
If your wondering why I'm asking this, it's a hobby of mine to info and images of comics and such that I like. (For private use) Sort of like a digitial scrap-book. (Also helps me learn about the series as I go along)
Anyway - it would really help me out to be able to list the character accurately, so I can know which characters to focus on.
I hope I'll eventually know stuff like this myself, but, again, I'm new here. Please help me - if possible! Thanks

I'd say you were pretty much there. Yagi though is very much in the ???? category as well. He's an assassin for hire, and as such has no morals about what jobs he takes (not that we've seen so far), he does it for the payment he receives. Whether that makes him good or bad can only be determined by his actions.
The same for the most part apply to the ninja. They have their own rules and code (witness Shingen's revelation to Usagi during the Dragon Bellow Conspiracy) and yet will also take willing assignments from those known to have alterior motives eg. Hikiji.
I see you haven't listed Kitsune. Where would she go? On a moral standpoint she would more likely fit into the "good" side even though she is thief and "does what she needs to get by".
The simple matter is, very few people in the world are set black or white into a defined "good" or "bad" category. Most people are somewhere in the grey area and this is reflected in Stan's writing and storytelling.
