The Kouga Ninja scroll manga!!

In the United States is basilisk!!!a manga that has been released by del rey by masaki segawa.It is based in a novel by Futaro Yamada.

did anyone read this???

I know Yamada is a legendary writer of ninjas and samurais,and I am looking foward to this,but I really wanna know if its worth!!!

I just ordered it from Gary's. Like you, I know almost nothing about this novel. Actually, I know less than you since I'm not familiar with Basilisk. I read the reviews on Amazon and they were all positive, so I thought I'd give it a chance.

Kouga Ninja Scrolls is a novel, not a manga. The book was written in 1958, and it sounds like the movie Shinobi: Heart Under Blade was inspired by it. It has been likened to a Romeo and Juliet story, where one is from the Iga ninja clan and the other from the Koga.

I have seen the anime the first two episodes and it was great, it reminds me of ninja scroll of yoshiaki kawajiri,it is madhouse who did the anime. I checked some info and Kawajiri said that Yamada was a big influence in his work.

I love Basilisk.

I have read the five volume manga adaption that was beautifully (If unrealistic as far as women were concerned. Not that I'm complaining.) illustrated by Segawa Masaki.

I'll summarize the plot for those who are interested:

In an effort to prevent a war from breaking out between his two sons over who will succeed him, Tokugawa Ieyasu dissolves the peace treaty between the Koga and Iga ninja clans.

Ten ninja from each clan are selected, and the clan that destroys the other clan's team wins the dispute for the son of Ieyasu's they represent.

And of course, Gennosuke of the Koga, and Oboro of the Iga are helpless as this war destroys their chances of a happy life together. (They were preparing to wed as the treaty was dissolved.)

Not that I'm saying the story doesn't end happily ever after. ...Or does.

Also, it was Basilisk that inspired Ninja Scroll, which I'm also a big fan of.
