Happy 45th anniversary, instant noodles
Okay, this has nothing to do with Usagi, but I thought it was an interesting, if unusual, fact. August 25 will mark the 45th anniversary of instant noodles by Nissin Foods of Osaka, Japan who put out the original "Chicken Ramen" in 1958. To celebrate this milestone, the company is stranding eight of its executives on a deserted island with nothing to eat but its instant noodles. They will even have to make their own cookware, bowls, and eating impliments from bamboo and other resources on the island.

If you want to find out about the exec's quest for survival, you can check out the original story (yahoo.com). If you want to read some funny stuff and discuss about it, you should clickhere (fark.com). This webpage has actually saved my life from boredom at work

Uncooked? Well, it's already slightly cooked by deep-frying (often in the high-cholesterol horror of Coconut Oil). Plenty o' calories, of course, so they shouldn't loose a lot of weight... FROM THEIR ARTERIES!And if the executives get too lazy, they can eat the ramen uncooked.
Hmm. Less menacing than I'd meant it. I'll have to work on that.

Believe it or not I have never eaten the stuff. I’ve seen the little brick packages at a friend’s house, but I don’t think I was ever there when he cooked them. My diet is those days consisted of lots of beef jerky and sunflower seeds. Oh how I miss strawberry milk and a big bag of jerky.ziritrion wrote: Ha ha! Good one!... Wait, you were kidding, right?

Dude, ramen noodles are, along with frozen pizza, one of the most basic foods for surviving in an urban area! Well, having lots of restaurant magnets on the fridge and discount cupons helps a lot too
.
I sure love when I go home after weeks of cooking by myself...

Now you're speaking my language. I can live off of Digornio's and Freschetta. Although I think my hearts fighting a losing battle with those evil saturated fats. I wish they still sold Wolfgang Puck's at my local grocery store.ziritrion wrote:along with frozen pizza, one of the most basic foods for surviving in an urban area!
