In brief: I work in Graphic Design, though I've also done Technical Illustration in the past, as well. I'm now a Project Coordinator (aka Project Manager) for my assigned contracts for the Production Dept.
Let's just say college was some time ago, but not an ancient time ago. I'm rather close to actual age the TMNT would be if using the 13 in 84 time scale. heheh.

I have been involved in riding and working with horses since high school. Owned one, that I believe thinks he owns me, for 14 years.

I took classes in Japanese calligraphy many years ago, and almost a year ago, started taking iado classes, which I am absolutely loving!

I found Usagi through TMNT. The first comics I started reading on loan from friends was X-Men, New Titans and TMNT were next. While I haven't collected X-Men since the mid-90s, I still get TMNT and Usagi (the only comics I order anymore).

I thought it was great to see Stan mention the Moody Blues for music, I have long enjoyed their music, and seen them in concernt numerous times. But my fave rock groups are Asia and Saga. However, I also enjoy music of Metallica to Tangerine Dream and David Arkenstone.

Movies--Lord of the Rings! :D (And that goes for books too!)
TV shows--Farscape.

I guess that's enough of an overview?
Nice to meet you, too.

Well I turned 21 two weeks ago and fortunately was able to celebrate it the tradional way which undoubtedly led to the experience of getting kicked out of my first bar for having too much to drink. So all in all a good bday for me! :D

I grew up on the northshore of Oahu, Hawaii in a town called Kahuku. Lived there until I was 18 then I moved to Phoenix, AZ for some misled desire to attend Devry University which wasn't even a university when I started. Anywho I'll be graduating in February with a BS in Computer Information Systems, which is Devry's fancy name for their computer science degree. So if anyone wants to give me a job, preferably back home, let me know. *winky-winky*

First Usagi experience: I can't remember exactly what age I was either 6 or 7. Anywho I found a copy of the first usagi TPB in my elemetary school library and I absolutely loved it!

Comics: Collecting comics was always hard. I lived on the country side of the island so the closest comic book shop was at least a 45 minute drive. Luckily the high school library always got the Usagi TPB's whenever they came out. Since I've moved to Phoenix however theres a comic shop 5 minutes away so I am their every wednesday picking up my weekly picks.

Well obviously Usagi but my favorite character besides Usagi is Batman. So 75% of the comics I buy are Batman related, Gotham Central being the best of them all at the moment. Think of it as 'GCPD Blue' and you pretty much get the idea of what it's like.

I also get a lot of the 80's revival stuff like Voltron and Transformers. Also anything by Jhonen Vasquez or Steve Niles is pure gold!

Favorite books: As far as actual novels I tend to read a lot of science fiction or fantasy novels. My favorite book is the same as everybody elses favorite book: The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. I read this book at least once every year. Other favorites include Neuromancer by William Gibson, Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, the Redwall books by Brian Jacques and the Drizzt Do'Urden series by R.A. Salvatore.

Music: You will almost always hear me listening to alternative/rock/punk music but I also tend to listen to a lot of anime or videogame related stuff. I also enjoy classical music which is a side effect of being in band all throughout highschool as is my mild love of jazz.

Favorite movies: Theres too many to really list but I guess Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back would definately be at the top of my list. Then of course theres the Lord of the Rings movies, Equilibrium, Blade Runner, The BoonDock Saints, Nightmare Before Christmas, Ronin(best car chase ever!), Batman, Goonies. Too name a few.

Anime: Best of the best is definately FLCL which has actually been airing on Cartoon Network lately. Great show! Besides that I tend to like the older stuff like Ghost in the Shell, AKira, Robotech/Macross. Some of my other favorites include Read or Die, Lain, Read or Die, Vampire HUnter D, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and Wolf's Rain.

Dream Vacation: Definately Japan. Just to see what it's like and to be able to eat Okonomiaki anytime I wanted to. Also I'd love to visit shinjuku!

Last but not least I like to blog although I haven't had a lot of time in the last few weeks because of school but still it's fun! Magnus9's Blog

FlCl is one of the most surprising, hilarious, entertaining and crazy shows that I've ever seen. I saw it last year and loved every single bit of it. So I got the DVDs, though the Spanish dub was painful to listen to (luckily, the DVD has Japanese with Spanish subtitles). They're also airing Neon Genesis Evangelion again on TV, with glorious Catalan dubbing :D (usually Spanish dubbing on anime sucks, but they do a pretty good job in Catalan. For some reason beyond my understanding, almost no DVDs come with Catalan dubbing  ).

If you like Gainax productions, make sure to check out Kare Kano (Kareshi kanojo no jijo), which was also lots of fun.
Ronin(best car chase ever!)
Man, everybody seems to love that car chase. I guess I'll have to watch that movie :P .

Kare Kano was fun for the first few episodes. Then I just got bored with it. I really didn't care about what happened next so I stopped watching it. And EVA is overrated!! Sorry. Eva just irratates me.

Some people I know didn't like Kare Kano either because it has lots of those "character insights" they do so often (someone wondering about his/her behavior and if it was good or bad for the people around him/her) and because of the not-so-lineal plot which made it sometimes confusing, but I actually enjoyed it. Not everybody likes the same things, I guess :P .

About Eva... I seriously believe that it has to be one of the best Sci-Fi shows ever created. Yeah, the ending was weird - but the show was great. But the same thing I said above applies here. It's a matter of taste.

And for something totally different: did you see Love Hina? That was fun too.

I agree with ziritrion, if it is Evangelion you're talking about when you say eva, that it was an amazing show. Did you know they've commisioned a live action feature length Evangelion movie? Hopefully it will be good.

I liked Evangelion and it was very good. But it is not the best and it is highly overated. It's not crap, I just think it's overated. As far as the movie goes I hope it will be good also but from what I've heard it already looks like it's going to be a very different animal than the series.

I've seen all of Love Hina and it was most enjoyable!

My vote for the best anime ever made, is cowboy bebop... i think it blows all the others away. akira, eva, you name it, cowboy bebop is better than it. Not the movie so much as the regular season shows. I've never seen a show that has as much amazing character developement as that series does, and the music is phenomenal as well. AND... its the only anime to ever have a good japanese to english translation.

Just in case you didn't know: the company in charge of the special FX for the live Evangelion movie is Weta, the guys that created the FX for the Lord Of The Rings movies. It was about time to see a movie with some giant robots monkeying around :D . Will they ever make a Gundam or Mazinger Z movie...? Or perhaps Transformers...?

I liked Cowboy Bebop, I didn't see the movie, though. I couldn't watch the whole series either, so I didn't get the whole thing. I'll have to watch it again.

I thought Cowboy Bebop was a pretty cool movie. I couldn't tell you how it stacks up with the series (haven't seen it). I also liked Princess Mononoke.

The live action Transformers movie is already in the works. It is still very early though so it's still not a sure thing that it will be made.

The Cowboy Bebop movies was one of the best movies I've ever seen! The only problem I had with it was that because it takes place in the middle of the tv series you know that nothing is going to happen to any of the main characters. That just made a lot of the movie kind of dull since you knew everyone was going to make it out ok. OTher than that it was a great movie though.

I still think FLCL blowsz Cowboy Bebop away in all the categories you listed. Especially music! Oh and the english dub on the FLCL DVD's are the best translation I've ever seen in an anime. Synch-Point had a lot of love for this show and they really made sure to do it justice with their DVD treatment.

Cowboy Bebop The Movie rocked. Easily one of the best Anime movies around. Akira is still my fave though....mainly for the nostalgia. I never caught the Bebop TV show, except at a few Cons here and there. But that didn't matter. The storyline, animation and action scenes were top-notch. Also enjoyed the instant ramen scene!!
