Post by Stan Sakai »

It is still a long time away, but I've accepted an invitation to MegaCon 2008.

It will be in Orlando, FL on March 7-9.

Usagi, Comics, Orlando AND Spring training! :D versus March English weather less comics and no baseball :?

Looks like we may have to book up the timeshare and sneak on over for a week! 8)

Having never been to a con, how, when and where do you get tickets?
I don't live in hope but a little village near there.

Thank you very much for the info folks! I have book marked the site for when tickets go on sale.

It will be so cool to finally go to one of these thangs in a place we know at a time when we can also see some Spring Training Baseball!

It wont let me  as although you can change the country to UK it still requires a state code and I don't have one! AND there isn't a phone number  I am gonna call the Convention Centre later!

I know what you mean when you can't get to thangs ya want to go to but it does make it so much sweeter when you can. Last November I flew from England to Orlando for our vacation and took a day trip to LA, to visit a comic shop and watch a DVD. True story! :D

The convention center won't be able to sell you tickets.

That page does provide a number for ticket ordering, though:

Have you just tried typing in your county in the state code field? It does accept more than two letters (just tried), and put your post code for the zip code instead?

Just tonight my wife and I were saying we want to go back to Orlando next year to Disney for a vacation. We are hesitant because by then we will have two kids, Lily will be 2 years old but her sister, Holly, will only be about 5 months. It's A LOT of work going to Disney with kids and we were thinking of getting some grandparents to come to help us.

I was thinking of going in February or March time actually, and with Mega-con going on in March it would make a good time to go. My good friend lives in FL and, so long as we have family with us, I could more than likely sneak off to the con for a few hours, meet Sensei and act like a major geek over Usagi.

It looks like I have some serious talking to do to my wife about a trip down to FL! HEHE, it would be nice to get away!

We are now sorted for Megacon! We have accommodation, flights, hire car, con tickets all done! :D

There will be at least 8 people I know there and could be as many as 30+ according to the response to the Megacon thread at the other board I frequent (Kevin Smiths Viewaskew) so look out for the gang in the Purple with Yellow trim Mooby Shirts! :D

I am so looking forward to this! 8)
