Rush
I went to see Rush last night at the Hollywood Bowl. I've been a huge fan for a long time but had never seen them perform live. AWESOME!!! Anyone else out there Rush fans???
Neil Pert
Dear Readers,
Rush is awesome.
I think Rush is really about Neil Pert.
Pert as the drummer drives the band and the songs.
Pert was born in 1952.
The music is so intense and concentrated, i can only take small doses.
I wish Primus (driven by Les Claypool, the bass player) and Rush would play together.
Best wishes to all!

Re: Neil Pert
Strange, I always thought Geddy Lee, the bass player, was the driving force behind Rush. I agree that Neil Pert is definitely one of the greatest drummers. I definitely loved the music they did during the 70's and 80's, but have never really heard much of what they did after that.

I love Rush, whenever I hear Spirit of the Radio on the radio, oh man, it just makes my day. It makes me smile as if the girl of my dreams (Jennifer Love Hewitt) just smiled at me.
I love the fact that Rush has written songs about Lord of the Rings.
Has anyone ever read Neil Pert's books? He wrote one called The Masked Rider, which is about a bicycle tour he took through Africa. It was an amazing read.
He wrote another called Ghost Rider. If I have the story correct, I believe both his wife and daughter died and, the grief of this was too much and he just rode on his motor cycle. This book is all about that. I have the book but haven't read it yet, just knowing what the poor man went through with that grief is too much for me to bear and I haven't had the courage to read the book yet, but I will.
There's a third one about a road trip he took I think from Canada to somewhere down south here in the US, Fl maybe? I own it as well but haven't read it yet.
If I have the story wrong behind Ghost Rider please tell me and correct me, I'd hate to say that that is what happened if it didn't.
I have so many books still to read, sometimes I think I might not ever get around to it. Books are my weakness. I dream of having a nice big house, a nice library with a big fire place and two comfy over sized leather chairs in front of it, a table with a chess set between them, and thick wood book cases full of every book I ever wanted to read. Two suits of armor stand guard at the doorway.
A man can dream, eh?
