Mice Templar
I read a negative review of this and almost didn't buy it. I decided to give it a chance and I'm glad I did! I loved it.

Mice Templar was published in New Fund Comics 2004 or something like that. There was also another comic that had a little Mice Templar comic before Mice Templar #1 last week.
As far as issue 1 goes, I found it very enjoyable. The only problem I had was keep the characters seperate. I would get a little confused on who was who and their relationships to each other. Nothing a 2nd reading wouldn't clear up.

If you buy the issue, there's a brief article that explains the history of this idea and why it took so long to come out. I guess the maih holdout was that the artist had another series that became immensely successful, which would be a good problem to have.
I think there room enough for more than one anthropomorphic mouse comic. At least I hope so, since I make one too!
The art looks very different than the Mouse Guard -- almost Mignola-esque -- if I can make up a word. Very dynamic.
I also was confused at first by several characters looking alike and had to read it a second time.
The review I read bashed it for it's similarities to Star Wars, Eragon, etc., but these are archetypes that have existed for hundreds of years.
