Shinobi: Heart under Blade

Post by Monkey »

I just found out about a movie yesterday called, Shinobi: Heart under Blade. I picked it up from Best Buy and popped it in.

It was really well done. It had a near perfect blend of action and dramatic story. I would describe it as an amped up version of Jet Li's, "Hero" with a dash of the Matrix-like fighting styles/flair.
It is basically a Romeo and Juliet tale that takes place in feudal Japan with two hidden shinobi villages that are currently at peace but have had many many years of war and bloodshed.

I thought this would be a good place to tell about the film. Go check it out if you get a chance.

Here are two trailers for it:

and an english-dubbed version (but not as good video)

I picked it up as a DVD a while ago, and I read the novel the movie is based on. The movie is a lot of fun, but I don't recommend the novel.
