Marathon reading of UY from beginning to current issues

Post by Jet_Jaguar »

How many people here have ever attempted a marathon reading of every issue of UY produced so far within a fairly short period of time? (Like, say, a few weeks) I think I might attempt a marathon reading of UY from the very beginning all the way to the current issues sometime soon. There are a few Dark Horse TPBs that I don't have yet, but I plan to get them pretty soon.

I would also like to do the same thing with Groo sometime, but I only have a fairly small fraction of all issues of Groo produced thus far, and acquiring all of it would probably be pretty difficult (I'd love to live somewhere with a library that had complete runs of every UY and Groo issue produced to date).

You know what would be great? If someone would start a comic library where you could go to read back issues. For the rare issues they could simply have reproductions.

If I had all the TPBs I would definitely try that marathon one rainy weekend.

I can assure you, just one rainy weekend won't be enough; I've got all the TPBs or HCs plus the issues up to date and I've been reading them time and again.

It takes me about 4-6 days, depending on how demanding my family is...

Undisturbed? Well, how could I tell....

Ok, maybe I'm a slow reader, but I know the text by heart and kind of flow through the stories, if you know what I mean.

The trouble with reading all of those books in one sitting is that I only have single issues and so that means a lot re-bagging after I'm done.

Oh sure I can re-bag as I go, but that lasts about five issues and then I just stop and open the next issue. :(

That would probobly be the coolest thing ever. But what if it was over the internet, so I could read it in the comfort of my underwear, while eating a sandwich! :D

I started off doing this but must admit I stopped by trade 10 when I got caught up in some stuff at home. I need to continue reading them. The OCD in me wants to start again from book one, but I really want to see what happens next, so I might just continue from 10 and then one day do the marthon for fun.

i've done a marathon with the tpb's i DO have, but sadly my collection is incomplete. Also, I'm not the most delicate person in the world and am scared to death of unbagging my single issues.

I kinda have an on-going thing with Usagi. I read all the trades in order and then start over again. I've been doing it since I got all the trades lined up last year. Right now I'm at #14 (again)

Well I've just finished the "Mother of All Mountains" arc in the last few days AND I managed to actually re-bag each issue.

@ oxthowe: Which TPB do you still need? I've got a couple of spare ones...# 10, #11, #17, and #18.

PM me if you are interested.
