You better, otherwise I will extra Sad :pStan Sakai wrote:I was invited to Planet Con, but but had to turn it down. It is in April and I've already got two events that month. The con was in May in 2007, and I thought it would be about the same time this year. I was assured I will get an invitation for 2009 (Usagi's 25th anniversary).Stan Sakai wrote:No invitation.Monkey wrote:Sad. no Planet Con in Kansas City?

Any chance you will attend the Anthrocon in Pittsburgh June 26-29 ? I have been fortunate enough to see you there in past years, but no mention yet on their web site for 2008:

Re: Anthrocon?
I hope to be there, but have not booked a flight, or room, or dealer table. Nor have I reapplied for a sales permit.Shadowfax wrote:Any chance you will attend the Anthrocon in Pittsburgh June 26-29 ? Hey Stan, about the Orlando con...don't go east towards Daytona on I-4...It will either be BIKE WEEK, or Spring Break!!
However...during that weekend over in Titusville, Florida, they host a very fun Air Show. I participated in it for many years while I was in high school and worked as a Flight Line Historian to the T-6 Texans, dressed in flight gear to do so, and when the flight line closed down to the general public, got to be a crew chief to a bird for the pilot, hand cranked the props through on many World War Two birds--one being a B-25 out of Kissimee--and just had an overall ball for a teenager.
I remember one year I had brought a 1975 850 Norton Commando in on the flight line...had more questions about the bike than the planes. A year later I came as and SAS operator with airsoft weapon and full British DPM, figuring I was going to show the place up. Wrong, a local Star Wars club showed up in their Imperial Stormtrooper gear and was doing the parking and ticket purchases at the gates!

Terrific! We're planning a vacation trip around it! Actually, you will be flying into Pittsburgh at the same time about 4,000 engineers and librarians are leaving, after our annual convention . . .Yes, I will be at Anthrocon this year.

The Kawaii-kon people contacted me about a month or so ago, and asked if I was up for a return visit sometime. Of course, I'll take any excuse to go to Hawaii. Just not this year, though. It's in April, and I've already got Vermont, Oregon, and Poland and Sweden for that month.runnah4life808 wrote:i just realized that you were in Hawaii for the 2006 Kawaii-Kon! Man, I didn't even know what that was until just recently. I really need to stay up to date on these types of things.
Whenever a trip is definite it will be posted on the Dojo Boards, so keep checking the forum. There are a few more trips still unconfirmed--one involves the Groo Crew.

Oh, I know about that one...My wallet is still feeling the crunch from it. But the art I bought from you was more than worth it.Stan Sakai wrote:No, it will be in Vermont. I will be signing at the Pasadena Obon Matsuri on July 19 5-7pm. This will be for Heritage Source.
Tomoe's Story will be out by that time, so this would be a good opportunity to get a signed copy. Heritage Source ships worldwide, and Carolyn is very easy to work with. Hopefully, the hardcover will be out by then as well.
