Is anyone (besides me) going to the Portland Comic Book Show? If you are, let me know if you want me to bring along anything in particular. It is a one day show and I will be flying in from Vermont, so will be bringing as many books and stuff with me. Even Editor Diana will be there.
Post it here or send me a pm.

Re: Portland, I am planning to come down with my family from the Seattle area. We've only been to one other comic-con (Emerald City last year), so we don't really know the ropes yet, but when I heard you were coming to Portland we made plans to be there.
Will you have the Usagi books with you? I bought all of the paperbacks last year after discovering Usagi, except for volume 10 which my local store hasn't been able to get.
I understand that you don't do free sketches any more, but do you still sketch for a fee? (And if so, how much does it usually cost?) My boys (11 and 13) brought spiral-bound sketch pads to Emerald City last year and got sketches from Dave Kellett and Chris Giarrusso, which they love.
We're looking forward to meeting you and hearing your talk at the show.
Thanks,
Matthew

We enjoyed meeting Mr. Sakai at the Portland show. He is very nice, as everyone who has met him has said. I picked up sketchbooks 2 through 4, and a pin. The original artwork that was for sale at his table was beautiful-- I wish that I could have purchased one of those as well.
Mr. Sakai's afternoon presentation was very entertaining and well-received. It was a great way to end the show for us, before our drive back to Seattle.
Thanks,
Matthew
