Test footage from anime version of LITTLE NEMO

Post by Jet_Jaguar »

Just found this on the excellent cartoon blog:

It's a bit of test footage for the animated film Little Nemo in Slumberland directed by key Miyazaki animator/director Yoshifumi Kondo. It's a beautiful piece of animation. It's really a shame that the actual movie didn't turn out this way.

While we're on the subject, if you haven't read the excellent Little Nemo in Slumberland: So Many Splendid Sundays!, beg, borrow, or steal a copy (well, it would probably be hard to steal since it's an enormous book):

Couldn't agree more. Winsor McCay is a favorite artist and a genius. It is a shame that movie never got made.

So Many Splendid Sundays is worth the cash!
