I'm looking forward to getting this. A second volume is coming June 17.

"I only wish..."

"I only wish the release format they are using was different. This set apparently contains four 1-hour episodes. There are over 70 episodes in the series. It could take several years to release the entire run! "

And I wish they would say something about whether or not they plan to continue the Zatoichi television series....

I can just see them quitting after one season of Lone Wolf and Cub.

That's disappointing to hear. I feel a little bit spoiled after picking up the entire run of the original Ultraman series in two volumes for almost nothing.

If the whole Lone Wolf and Cub series were released like this (of course, it's possible that we'll only get a fraction of the whole series), it would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $400 to get the whole series!

Deep Discount has a reasonably nice price for this.....

http://www.deepdiscount.com/viewproduct ... d=33972701

$15.38 plus free shipping in the USA

They also has the second volume listed for release on 6/17/08

With the Zatoichi season one episodes, they released first in this format, and now they are releasing less expensive multi-volume sets of the same episodes.... Maybe they plan to do the same thing with the Lone Wolf and Cub television series.
