Hello.

Quick update from me:

* Yep Fanfan, I've attended Warsaw meeting with Stan today. Shook his hand, got his autographs, shot a few pics. Didn't take long, but nevertheless, it was an awesome experience to finally encounter Mr. Sakai and even have a short conversation with him.

* STEVE I HAVE SOMETHING FOR YOU!

You actually got special greetings from Sensei - and he laughed a lot when I told him I had that special request from you.

* I will provide pics later on. I'm dead tired today

* My good friend Kolec (that's his nickname, which means "Spike" in Polish) drew and gave a special fan-comic to Sensei during his meeting in Cracow - see the blog entry. As far as I know, Stan quite liked this little gift. I helped Kolec with translating the thing to English. We were actually supposed to prepare something together, but due to the lack of time, I didn't manage to jot down the script. Oh well. I hope we'll be able to produce it in the nearest future anyway.

Also, Kolec shot a couple of pics during that Cracow meeting. Here they are, in another blog entry of his.. He is that guy in the 7th and 8th pics. A very tall and talented beast!

Just wanted to brag that I got two Usagi Yojimbo comics signed today by Stan Sakai. He also drew me a picture of Usagi in both. He's such a nice person. The funny part was that they were doing a TV interview with him and I started asking him questions when it was my turn to get a drawing. 30minutes ago I went to youtube to see some movies about Stan and Usagi and bam !. Someone posted a video of me asking him some questions . My 5 seconds of fame have arrived. If you want to see it here's the link (It's in english):

The thing that's not featured in this short video s how Stan comments that he doesn't draw in american comics. He only signs them because Americans will only want the drawing to get a higher price and then sell it. He said he makes the drawings in Europe because we cherish them and want for our enjoyment not as a collectible. Personally I'm simply overjoyed about the drawings. I could never sell them. "My precious"

. I also asked him about setting up plot points a couple of books in advance. Stan said sometimes he has big plot arches planned earlier and sometimes he doesn't.

I would like to thank Stan for answering the questions. It was an honor to meet him. I hope I didn't take too much of his time.

Does anybody know on which channel and at what time will the proper interview be shown???

Lalalilo your soo lucky to meet Sensei heh and i think the same like sensei about the free Scketches and its sad to see all those scketches been sold on ebay...

How ironic that the only forum where I can't use my Usagi Yojimbo signature which I have been using for over a year is the Usagi Yojimbo forum

How much more cool would my posts look with this at he bottom.

It's Poland's symbol combined with Usagi.

Edit: Turns out it works fine just doesn't update old posts.

Stan Sakai, autor komiksu „Usagi Yojimbo” o przygodach królika samuraja, odwiedził Katowice. Było to drugie z trzech miast, w których rysownik spotkał się z fanami. Najpierw rozdawał on autografy i podpisywał swoje komiksy w księgarni Imago, a następnie w galerii Rondo Sztuki odbyło się spotkanie z rysownikiem, które poprowadziła prezes ŚKF Ola "Alex" Cholewa, a tłumaczem był Piotr "PWC" Cholewa.

I'm still a little sad that I couldn't attend neither Poland nor Sweden, but viewing the pictures and reading the reports almost makes up for it.
