Is this a piece from San Diego already on Ebay?

I found the following item on Ebay and am wondering if this is a piece from San Diego someone already slapped on the website:

Someone trying to make a quick buck though I don't have any idea how much original cover art of UY costs.

I might be wrong, but that does not look like what I would believe the original artwork for a cover would look like, rather it seems to be a cover concept drawing which Stan might have sketched before coming up with the final cover, similar to some of the sketches included in the Usagi Sketchbooks. Also, that artwork and the finished cover beside it are similar, but the figures are in differant positions.

Well I am sure it would be easy for Stan to figure out who the seller is. If he is being truthful saying he got this some Stan "this past week". It is defiantly not the cover art, as Usagi is in a different pose and I assume Stan would use the particular art paper I see from all other artists.
It does say "Cover 04 / 05" in th corner though. I'm not sure how this works with DH. Does Stan make a few sketches and they choose which one they want the cover to be? This would make sense I guess, and would make the seller truthful.

That is a cover rough that I sold at Anthrocon in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania last week. It was one of the pieces in my portfolio. The 04/05 refers to the date--April, 2005. It was done with a black Uniball pen on a sheet of typing paper. I remember a couple of people asking me about the paper and materials I used for my portfolio drawings. Most of them are done on acid free bristol with permanent, waterproof ink.

I sometimes do these rough cover sketches when I get an idea, but do not have the time to do the finished cover at the time--such as on an airplane or in the middle of inking or penciling a page.

I would guess that someone wouldn't go through the trouble of asking for one if they were just gonna turn around and sell it. Unless, of course, strapped for cash.

I have a lot of what I call "con drawings", that is, drawings done specifically to sell at conventions. These are the drawings that are printed on the outside back covers to the comics or the embossed images for the hardcovers, and elsewhere as spot illustrations such as the "closed" store sign.

I do have a few rough sketches, but these are usually quickly bought by one collector who specializes in my roughs and pencil drawings.

The other pieces I bring are covers, endpapers, and miscellaneous drawings published elsewhere.

I have not sold any UY story pages with the exception of one page, and another that was given away. I did sell or give away pages to UY 100, but those are not story pages.

Lol, as I've read more about the San Diego Con I realized my message sounded very out of place since the Con hadn't happened for this year yet when I originally posted. From all the talk (and not knowing the actual dates - at least from memory) led me to just assume the piece may have come from there(of course Stan clarified where it came from).

I couldn't afford to go to the Con anyways, as a substitute teacher (also been a Youth Minister/Director - didn't go to seminary) I am out of work for the summer. Fortunately, the stimulus check from Uncle Sam our generous gov't has kept us afloat as far as my bills. My wife carries us through otherwise.

So, now that I've shared way too much info I hope those of you enjoying the Con have a fantastic time!
