You have a point regarding the schedule and the selling out. It makes sense. Wonder if this means Sunday will be more entertaining than in the past?
My Schedule for Thursday:
(Wed: Might do-- 6:00–7:30 and 7:30-9:00 Fringe Pilot Screenings
Depends on friends.)
Thursday:
10:00-11:00 75 Years of Doc Savage Woot the Man of Bronze!!!
1:00-2:00 Mark and Sergio (MISSED this last year because it was taking over three hours just to pick up my four-day pass! Stan saved my life by giving me a bottle of water, I was so thirsty and sunburned. *owes life to Stan Sakai*)
3:00-4:00 Wizard’s First Rule
OR
3:30-4:30 Quantum Quest (can’t make up my mind)
And MAYBE
7:15-8:15 Adventures in Anime—Quinton Flynn (Axel from Kingdom Hearts, Reno from Final Fantasy, Raiden from MGS) and Emmy winner Jeff Nimoy (director of Digimon, Naruto, Wolfwood from Trigun) talk about their careers and their adventures on tour, answer your questions, and sing their famous Yaoi Song from AdventuresInAnime.com! Room 6A
Ha, I thought about the Afro-Samurai one! If my friends want to go I might have to pass on my other choices just to be polite.

Okay I have decided to try and hold the UY Dojo photoshoot right after the Sergio and Mark panel on Thursday up in room 8. This will be the first time we've done it outside the now grossly-overcrowded exhibit hall...so we'll see if it will work out any better. Last year we tried holding it at the DHC Pavilion after a signing by Stan, but found that it was still too difficult for some people to make simply because the exhibit hall is too conjested (think 405 during rush hour with people in place of cars --then turn it into a demolition derby). Having it after the Groo panel in room 8 will ensure that everyone has enough time to get there (I'm assuming most UY fans will be present anyway), and it is also not as difficult to get to on a Thursday.
Thursday also appears to be a better day partly because my own schedule is pretty well packed on Friday and Saturday, as I am sure most everyone else's will be with all the great panels they are holding on those days. We may have to hold the shoot immediately following the panel and possibly just outside of the room because there will probably be a panel right afterwards. I seriously need to start considering hiring someone to coordinate this for me one day...I'm an engineer, darn it, not an event coordinator !!
Next year I am hoping to hold it at the UY 25th Anniversary panel.

Actually my Thursday is looking more active than Friday currently... depending though on what Kris might want to do.
But I should be able to make it, the Torchwood presentation finishes at 2pm as well so I'll get myself to room 8 after it is done... how far is room 20 away from it? I can't recall from two years ago.
Also before I forget, and I'm sure Stan had mentioned this somewhere, which table/stand is he on this year?

Room 8 is on the same 2nd level as 20. Just head across the Sails Pavilion from 20 to the conference rooms on the most westerly side of the convention center. The Sails Pavilion is that very open semi-outdoorsish area where they used to hold the registration (as of this year no more on-site reg)...also where they have the autograph area, freebie tables, masquerade party, and art show. It is typically not very crowded there.Mayhem wrote:But I should be able to make it, the Torchwood presentation finishes at 2pm as well so I'll get myself to room 8 after it is done... how far is room 20 away from it? So it's fairly close to where you are. Torchwood may prevent some from making it over but keep in mind that panels usually close out about 15 min early to hold Q&A sessions, which I have found to be low enough in value to use as early outs to head over to other panels and UYD gatherings!

I will be signing at the Dark Horse booth on Saturday 10-11 AM. Otherwise, I will be at Booth 4906 (listed in the program guide as "Stan Sakai"). I will also be at the Groo panel on Thursday afternoon, and will try to make it to Floyd Norman's Spotlight also on Thursday. Floyd is a wonderful speaker and is one of the more important figures in animation. He is one of the very few people today that worked under the old Maestro Walt Disney. He was made an official Disney Legend in October. He will be interviewed by Scott Shaw!.

Thanks Stan, the exhibitor floorplan was now available and I just wanted to see whereabouts they had put you this year
(right across from the Playstation stand by the looks of it!)
I'm also aiming to be at the Floyd Norman presentation as well
