UY comics collection (near complete run) now on eBay

Post by Treadwell »

Now on eBay (minus the color and summer specials):

##

The money crunch is taking its ultimate toll. I gotta let this go. (Fortunately, I will always have the trades!)

Summer Special 1
Color Specials 1-4
Fantagraphics 1-38
Mirage 1-16
Dark Horse 1-113 (missing: 5, 65)

(170 issues total)

Thinking of putting them on eBay separated thus into five lots.
But first will entertain offers here.

(For now I'm keeping the Art Ofs, Space Usagi, etc. I might put Albedo & Critters up in their own lots, so I won't part out the Usagi issues. I don't have Albedo #2 anyway. ;) )

Most are in excellent shape; I'll conservatively say they average at "very fine".

Do you just have the Usagi featured Critters issues, or all/most of the 50 issue run? I only ask as I'm missing a few near the end for my full set.

I have all but two of the Critters run. Missing 47 & 49, IIRC. Hard to find those later ones that don't even say "Critters" on the cover. No telling in which longbox a dealer chooses to hide those!

If I sell them, it'll be in a lot. Hard to part with it, though. Pretty good stuff, what Furrlough always tried to be but has never quite achieved.

(Speaking of which, I'll be selling my entire run of Furrlough as well.)

Someone was selling a 146 issue lot for $600 recently, so using the same math, I'll ask for $700. I'll cover shipping within the US 48.

Okay, my reduced offer is $500. If that doesn't go over, it's off to eBay. :)

I'd love to help out and all, but unfortunately it would all be duplicates for me. I hate even thinking it, let alone saying it, but ebay might be the best option.

$2.90 - $3.50 per comic sounds very reasonable, and it would definitely cost a LOT more to buy all of them individually or in smaller lots, but when all added together, it makes for a pretty expensive purchase for the average person.

Also, I might be mistaken, but I believe most of the regulars on the forum here either have fairly complete collections, or possibly just follow the series in book form.

Best of luck in finding your collection a new home....

buying Usagi back issues

Treadwell, I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but I wanted to share my own experience, building a complete collection of Usagi comics using Ebay. With the exception of the Albedo issues and possibly the TMNT cross-over Mirage issues, anyone who is patient and persistent can purchase all the Usagi comics for about $1.00 per issue through Ebay auctions.

Wishing you the best of luck, we're all struggling through some grim economics. Maybe the convenience of purchasing so many issues in one lot will help you sell them.
