Professionally, I'm health educator at University of California, Santa Barbara. This fall I volunteered to write a weekly staff health column in the on-line edition of our college newspaper, The Daily Nexus.
Writing always takes a lot of time for me. With all that effort I'm want as many people to read them as possible.
Very good articles, especially the hand-washing one. That one is very timely with the outbreak of that virus that has been incapacitating Freshmen on the USC campus recently.
That was a pretty amazing to hear about USC. Another hand washing tip is to not use air driers. Sometimes germs get on to the machine and actually blow on to your hands while using them. Better to air dry.
Notice the question / answer in the end regarding people feeling sick after getting the flu shot.

(Be aware there is some talk of sex and four letter words, so they are not appropriate for all ages. My target audience is college students).
I got my flu shot the first day that Kaiser started giving them out. I've been getting them annually for the last 5 years or so, and have never been seriously ill during that time.
Okay, this is the last time I push this thread up. I written my last column on the benefits of thanking. My goal is to have 100 people respond with something they are thankful about in the blog comments. If you have the time and want to help I would love your support by posting you thanks there. I want to collect all that positivity in one place for all to see. Thanks!
