price increase
It looks like the comic will cost $3.50 (up from $2.99) as of this issue.

Re: price increase
Yes, I recently found out about the increase. Many of DH's books are getting a price jump.sschroeder wrote:It looks like the comic will cost $3.50 (up from $2.99) as of this issue.

Comic books seem to be the only things not skyrocketing, although the recent drop in oil has been quite welcome at the pump. When I started reading Critters and Albedo, the issues were $2. That was about 23 years ago. Usagi is, right now, $2.99 an issue, an increase of only 50% over the $2 price tag since I started reading it. The jump to $3.50 represents only a 17% increase and is probably an inflationary necessity and definitely not price gouging. Although with a hefty percentage of the readership in their teens and pre-teens, I wonder if such an increase will hurt sales, especially in today's upside-down economy.

I was concerned about that myself. However, the creative part of Usagi is mine and the business end is Dark Horse's, and this is a business decision.Todd Shogun wrote: Although with a hefty percentage of the readership in their teens and pre-teens, I wonder if such an increase will hurt sales, especially in today's upside-down economy.
I would have preferred a smaller price increase, say to $3.25. However, at this price, and with the state of Usagi, there would have to be another increase very soon after. We thought it was better to go with the one time $3.50 price, along with some other DH titles.
