Hello morna-san,
it's good to see you're still up to it; I was about to ask if there was something wrong, but you've been busy preparing your exhibition, I suppose....

Kamikaze for Ikea frames?? I didn't know they were in short supply on your side of the pond....Would you like me to send some of them? You'd only have to specify what kind of frames you've got in mind (prefferably the dimensions; I don't think they'll use their Swedish names all over the world.. )
Greetings from overseas

Thomas, you're so sweet! It's just that we don't have an Ikea in Victoria so I had to take the ferry (which has just gone up to 56 bucks one way!! owch) and spend a whole day just to pick up the frames I neglected to buy last time I was over there, and exchange some that were too small. If I'd known it was going to cost me that much I probably wouldn't have gone but - oh well it's done now.

The pieces look sweet all framed up and/or matted. I will get some of the more recent pieces posted and maybe shots of the show when things settle down. I have been trying to get a part time job since January and have been pretty depressed. The doors are just not opening. Painting has slowed down but is still going well. I sold my first piece - on the internet of all places! to a fellow CBR denizen. This was very affirming and things around the show are good. Maybe I'm "not supposed " to have a job right now. I dunno but I'm too busy to worry right now.

Thanks for looking !

 And here I thought you were reffering to the Atlantic Ocean when you said "pond"...

I thought she was using the term in a similar manner to refer to the Pacific and was talking about getting frames from Japan..... I did not realize they were Swedish frames.

Morna, can you PM me details on how to select and purchase your work by email / postal service? My mother's birthday is in late summer and I think she would enjoy your work (or, at least, I would enjoy giving her one of your pieces).

Thanks guys! I should post up a couple of the new ones. I got some new colours and they have changed things a bit. After a bit of a slump I'm back to working pretty much every day. As soon as they're dry enough to scan I'll throw one or two up.

Morna, can you PM me details on how to select and purchase your work by email / postal service? My mother's birthday is in late summer and I think she would enjoy your work (or, at least, I would enjoy giving her one of your pieces).

Steve... I think I dropped the ball there. If you're still interested shoot me an e-mail. I have prices figured out and I have now shipped one to the 'States so I'm ready for ya! ... not to mention that it would be an honour!

I am sheepishly bumping this thread as I am in for a quick visit and wanted to say hi to everyone. I am in a huge slump right now and I kinda think it's because a big change is brewing. Dunno yet but I might have to change my meduim (again) and the scale I've been working in just no longer feels right. I think I have to go big and there is a problem right there. Logistically I am stymied as I have no studio. I am also having issues with my subject matter.

Anyhoo I'd better not visit without posting a picture so here are a couple of recent-ish ones I like.

Beautiful piece. Your strokes, colors, and compositions are so dynamic, I can see you going much larger. It might actually give you more freedom of arm movement, to make even bolder strokes.

ah, I'm honoured.

I think you're right Stan. I am loving the chunky black line thing and the similar negative marks that the palette knife leaves. However jumping in scale now involves all kinds of other ancillary changes such as paper - how much bigger than my current (I use the term lightly as I've been stumped since my show last fall) large size of 20 inches can I go before I have to switch to wood or canvas, which I've never had much love for. Also oil bar starts to get limiting 'cause they're only so big ... so do I switch to conventional paint. How do I make marks on that scale.... and then there's the pragmatic bit of where?

gaaah! Too much change for my little brain to assimilate. I'll get through it eventually - or not. keep ya posted.

yaay! Hi right back atcha Mike!

Maka, thanks for the greeting. I shouldn't stay away so long you guys make me feel so welcome.

Tonight I am realizing how I have let quite a big lump of inertia develop and I need to just DO something. Who cares if it's the right medium or size or subject or surface ... it just needs DOING! We are all naturally lazy* and laziness is insidious. Maybe a humble little Usagi drawing is all I need to bump me out of my doldrums.... there! I just did three - they suck, of course but whatever... something is not nothing.

*except maybe Stan and Sergio those two are insane!
