I will just have to be content posting a link to the 28 minute video of Stan's Q & A session at Staples 2009 filmed by the Geek Bombast Podcast group....
John (from the podcast group, Geek Bombast) wrote:Finally, we tried to record the Stan Sakai panel for those who may not have been able to attend. We were only able to record about 27 minutes of it before they ran out of tape, sadly. However, what we did record can be found on our VEOH page.

Cool! That looks a lot better than the short video I shot and submitted to FanFan's DailyMotion group. I wish that the whole thing had been recorded, but that's better than nothing.

You can hear me asking a question at about the 6:18 mark (I hate listening to myself!) and you can hear Ghost9 at about 12:25 asking the question about whether or not the Yokai graphic novel will affect the release schedule of the regular series.

One useful thing I learned from meeting Stan is how to pronounce "Tomoe" (I had been saying "toe-moe-ay" when it's actually more like "tome-oy").
"It doesn't matter whom you are paired against;
your opponent is always yourself."

Ah, this is cool. I remember seeing those guys there filming this. I wondered why they left part-way through. It's nicer to know they ran out of tape, better than thinking of how rude they were!

Anyhow, I was there too. I asked the first question about Hermy and Nilson and a later question about whom he'd like to work with. I feel kinda bad now for not trying to meet some of you here on the forum.

How do you spell that Belgian artist's name anyhow? If anyone knows, that is.

Do you mean Michetz? I haven't seen the link, but I usually mention him in reference to good samurai research. If so, here is a few Usagi covers he did for the Dutch Usagi editions:

....and it's got tentakles in it, too;
I found it a bit hard to distinguish the three sisters, but then again, I find it pretty hard to distinguish Japanese (or Chinese) in real life, too. :oops:
Greetings from overseas

Ah, thank you very much! I've been meaning to look him up since then, I just haven't had the chance. Now I'll just have to remember to do this after work...
