Hello UY Dojo,

Man, our third fire since summer in Santa Barbara.

Looks really close outside but we haven't been evacuated yet. Lots of my friends who live downtown have.

Say a prayer for us Santa Barbara folks.

Sometimes, I am glad I live in Michigan. :?

Wishing you the best for surviving another season of fires out there in "Too Sunny California".

My aunt and uncle live there. They're safe, but they've evacuated to their rental house. Hope their usual house is safe, but it's kinda right there...

Our home is now in the evacuation warning area. We packed up the important papers. Now we are packing overnight bags and then important things to take with us. Peace, maka

We evacuated around 2:00am. We are safe for now. Some of my friends had to evacuate more than once, so we are fortunate.
It was an interesting exercise- what do you bring with you that fits in your car? I got my kids - so plus 1 foe me ;)

Twitter and facebook has been very useful to gather and communication tools. That's pretty cool. Peace, Maka

Maka a shout out to you from down here in Anaheim Hills. We've had our fair share of fires here too. Hang in there bro!

Glad to hear you are ok. It reminds me of the hurricane evacuations we would perform when I was living in Florida.

As far as your evacuation bag goes, I would suggest keeping a permanent one that can be grabbed as needed. That is what I used to use, though I don't now that I live out in Texas.
