Are the Usagi stories original or retellings?

Post by Winghead »

Are the stories in Usagi all exact retellings of things that actually happened transcribed in to comic form, with animals as people or are they all original stories?

For the most part, I'd say that they are original stories. There are stories that incorporate stories from Japanese folklore and some stories like "Grasscutter" that incorporate some real historical events, but, for the most part, the stories are fictional creations by Mr. Sakai.
