Sorry, I'm going to let you guys duke it out. I can't really afford to collect yet another line of hardcovers that go this insanely high in final values. But I can tell they would make a lovely set. For now, I am going to settle for reading UY in trade format, concentrate on reading the entire run before Wondercon next year, then pick up the Fantagraphics collection in hardcover when it is released.

...and I've recently bought Book 7: Gens Story for about 116 US $ (including shipping);

If only those US sellers would open their auctions for worldwide shipping; that Book 6 would have been a good addition to my collection...
Oh well, I'll have to be content with the small gabs and be patient; maybe I'm able to find the missing volumes for a decent price sometime.

Comicon effect?
Dear Readers,
Congratulations on your purchases, Steve.
I wonder if this is a part of the Comicon effect.
The last couple of years it seems to me the prices of comics are lower on eBay during the weeks around the San Diego Comicon.
I have picked up a couple of auctions at about half their usual rate.
Not a good time to sell, but a great time to buy.
Happy comic book hunting and reading to all!
go

Congratulations, Steve; I was tempted to place a bid, but decided against it (my budget being emptied by Book 7 already).Steve Hubbell wrote:Samurai and Wanderer's Road for just under $210, I am NOT complaining!
@Go: It could very well be that SDCC-time drains the funds out of comics fanatics willing to spend heavily on comics. At least some (thousands ?) are there or have been there, so they can't afford to bid on ebay as well....
Their loss, our gain!
