John Ostrander auction

Post by Stan Sakai »

Comics writer John Ostrander has been fighting glaucoma for awhile. Gail Simone has organized an auction for him at the Chicago Comic-con this weekend.

There are some really nice pieces up for bid, including a beautiful Paul Chadwick Concrete water color. I donated an ink and water color drawing of Usagi fighting a dinosaur.

Here is the link to John's sight site. Unfortunately, my piece is not pictured in the gallery:

I worked with John on the Gwim Bear Munden's Bar story for his and Tim Truman's Grim Jack, published by First Comics.

Where can we see a sample of your donated piece?

I have contacted the organization to see if internet bids will be accepted as there are a couple of other pieces I'm interested in which are pictured on the site. I hope they raise tons of funding!

I remember seeing that piece in Stan's portfolio when I was at the Staple! event in Austin back in March. I didn't have quite enough money to buy it, so I ended up buying a less expensive one with Tomoe (you can see a picture of it on my gallery page).
