Stan;
Please pm me and let me know if you will have time to do a commissioned art piece to bring to the Baltimore Comic Convention. I can provide details through pm.

Re: Baltimore Comic Con commission?
I don't think I will have time to handle any commission for Baltimore. I'm trying to finish UY 124 before leaving for Europe next week. When I get back, I'll already be a week behind schedule for 125.Shadowfax wrote:Stan;

Fair enough, enjoy your trip, and don't work too hard!!
I'll look forward to the standard "What Should I Bring" to Baltimore thread later.

I was there as a speaker for a seminar at Johns-Hopkins about 15 years ago.I wish you could of been at the Wizard World Chicago Comic-con because you would of made the show the best ever for independent collectors like myself. Baltimore is a great show from what I hear but I can't make it and I bet your table would have a long line that might make them limit the people that can get stuff signed or to meet you.
I wish I could meet you because your work is the Kirby or Ditko of my generation of collectors and
I wouldn't even know what to say but I honored.

I have just been notified that the Baltimore Marathon is scheduled for Saturday, the first day of the convention. This means possible road closures, if you are driving in that day. This is what the convention sent me:
Baltimore, Maryland - October 6, 2009 - The 10th annual Baltimore Comic-Con falls on October 10-11, 2009, and this year, the Baltimore Marathon will occur on our opening day, October 10th. This will be different than the standard Orioles or Ravens game, so we want to pass on what information we can to make your commute into Baltimore as easy as possible.
Directions for Artists Alley Exhibitors & Guests
Due to the Baltimore Marathon, traffic might be a little strange due to road closures on nearby streets. If you are walking to the show from a nearby hotel, the only impact will be some additional people foot traffic in the city. If you are driving, here are our suggestions for avoiding traffic problems during load in Saturday morning:
From the North Via I-95 South: (no street closures going to the Convention Center, heavy foot traffic starting at 5:30am until 3pm)
--Follow I-95 South through the Fort McHenry Tunnel ($2 toll) to exit 53 (I-395 North, Downtown)
--Bear left off the exit and follow signs to the Inner Harbor (the race registration and parking will be at the end of the ramp to the left. Alternate route: Exit off I-95 at Hanover Street, Left on Lee Street, Right on Sharp Street, Right on Conway Street, Left on Charles Street.)
Via I-83 South: (road closure at Fayette from 8:55am-10:05am. They will allow traffic through as needed)
--Follow I-83 South (Harrisburg Expressway) to the merger of I-83 and I-695 West
--Continue on I-83/I-695 merger for one mile to Exit 23A (I-83 South, --Downtown)
Proceed on I-83 (Jones Falls Expressway) until the expressway ends in the downtown area and becomes President Street
--At the third light, make a right onto Lombard Street (first light is Fayette)
--Follow Lombard Street six blocks to Light Street and make a left
From the South (no closures, however there will be a lot of traffic coming into the city. Please allow extra time)
Via I-95 North:
--Follow I-95 North to Exit 53 (I-395 North, Downtown)
--Continue in the Right lane
--Make a right onto Conway Street
--At the second light, left onto Charles Street.
From the West-Via I-70 East:
--Follow I-70 East to Exit 91 (I-695 South, Glen Burnie)
--Travel on I-695 South and take Exit 11A (I-95 North, Baltimore)
--Proceed on I-95 North to Exit 53 (I-395 North, Downtown)
--Continue in the right lane
--Make a right onto Conway Street
--At the second light, left onto Charles Street.

Thanks Sensai! Hopefully since I have to work that morning till 11:00 I might miss it. But I am planing to get tickets at the door. Ticketmaster adds all sorts of service fees for using there online services. By the time I was at check out 25.00 dollar tickets were costing me near 70.00 dollars. So hopefully i wont miss you. You will be in the ally when your not doing other things right? or are you coming for just one day?
