San Diego Con-2010
The 2009 Comic-con was just a couple of months ago, but full 4-day membership with Preview Night for 2010 is already sold out!
You can still buy full membership without Preview Night, though. Daily memberships are not yet being sold.

Four day memberships even without Preview Night is about 70% sold out. If you are going, buy your passes as soon as possible.

To add "insult" to injury on that front, four day passes without preview night can't be picked up on the Wednesday either; so expect large queues on Thursday morning. Still at least from past experience things do get processed reasonably quickly...
Kris and I both bought our passes. If for some reason we can't go at least we can return them for a refund by the end of June...

Wasn't planning to do SDCC again until 2011 or 2012, but might have to consider a more smaller event as an alternative... Don't even want to think about the hotel reservation stampede in February.
Wondercon (San Francisco) will be this April, but noticed that they haven't even started pre-reg yet...

I would like to take this moment to say they opened pre-reg TOO EARLY-- and now I shall have to do the day-passes which will set me back more and limit my time. But I'm sure they don't care as they will have eleventy-gazillion "Twilight" fans there this year to go on and on about the next movie, and we will eventually lose the convention to sparkly vampire fans.
Wondercon is looking more and more appealing.
Trouble is, SD is so much closer, I've had the chance the past two years to hook up with people and have a good time, and it's the one I've attended the most (and first).
One must deal, I guess.
EDIT: One-day passes go onsale in Dec.

Were the passes for next year on sale earlier than usual then? I thought it began same time as always...
As for Twilight, well maybe they should schedule any presentation to be Thursday morning again, first thing. Hopefully you can figure out my logic in that matter

Last year was it for me for SDC. I'm not going back, and only went because of a friend's request.
I attended a number of cons last year and for the reasons I go to to the cons, enjoyed them a lot more. They were also a lot less expensive and less crowded.
However, it has been a good con to say hi to all the UY fans, so I will miss that. And I'll look forward to seeing pictures of next year's gathering.

I'd still like to go to SDCC someday, but I might have to wait at least a few years until nobody cares about Twilight anymore.
Of course, by then, something else will probably come along that captures the imagination of a particularly obnoxious segment of the population.
