The Gallery of Aco

Post by Aco »

I will always remember the year 2010 as "The year of Usagi Yoijbo". For me, it really was..I got all of the sketchbooks, a Spanish sketchbook, Yokai graphic novel, Fantagraphics special edition, The art of Usagi Yojimbo, Space Usagi, some Dark Horse TPBs etc. The collection is now almost complete. I missed DH TPBs #8 and #9, but as i can see, they are already available at amazon so it´s just the matter of time.
I also added couple of beautiful Usagi covers and pin-ups to my original art collection. And among all, i got the chance to meet mr.Sakai in person which was really a wonderful thing, and also got amazing Gen sketch.
Hope 2011 is going to be even better when it comes to Usagi ;-)) !
Happy new year to all members of this great forum.

Everyone wants Usagi, so i asked mr.Sakai to do something different, and here is the result. One of the best sketches i have:

They aren't Coolray... well, not as in it being a translation of the San Diego ones. This was a special one-off sketchbook sold during the convention that Stan attended in Spain in 2004. Completely different material inside compared to the others. Quite a lot of covers and end papers, and some original bits, and a fingernail storyboard to the Cooking Lesson young Usagi story.
With a breeze comes a storm, but then you'll all be washed away...
