hi toukon!I must say that my knowledge in these things is limited and that I lern more from usagi's world and from then on catch more from 'how things actually were' than the other way around...
the similarities you found are an amusing notice and I am eager to hear if stan has had the hirado clan in mind when he chose mifune's symbol...

Usagi's mon or family crest is based upon the rabbit's footprint in the snow. I was aware that this crest actually did exist. In fact, I believe Maka once posted a photo of the crest--three dots within a circle--that he found on a tombstone.
I briefly considered using my own family mon, but quickly decided against it as it is too complex--a plum blossom within a circle, or "maru ume".
My castles are usually inspired by Himeji Castle a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Himeji.

Yes, I did. I saw it while visiting my grandparents grave in Japan.Stan Sakai wrote:In fact, I believe Maka once posted a photo of the crest--three dots within a circle--that he found on a tombstone.
It was a different experience visiting a Japanese graveyard. We washed my grandparents tombstone area, burned incense, prayed and left some of their favorite treats. The blackbirds/crows ate the treats as soon as we step 10 feed away from their grave. The graveyard was full of these huge birds. They are well feed by visitors.

Peace, maka
