2012 Convention schedule
I'm starting to firm up plans for 2012 conventions. These are still tentative, though I was invited and accepted. A lot can happen in the next year. So far, I've got:
Anime Los Angeles, January 6-8, 2012
Angouleme, France, January 26-29, 2012
KatsuCon, Washington DC, February 17-19, 2012 (looking forward to this, because Sharon has never been to DC).
WonderCon, March 16-18
Stumptown Comic Fest, Portland, OR, April 28 & 29
Comic Con International: San Diego, some time in July
Anime Weekend Atlanta, Atlanta, GA September 28-30
San Diego Comic Fest, San Diego, October 19-21

Long time, no see, Stan!
Keira, Ellie, and I are once again hoping you'll consider making your way out to Motor City Comicon in 2012. The show underwent some management shake-ups last year and seemed to be a much better run show, as a result.
At any rate, it's the only show we're able to make it to, and we'd love to see you again. If possible, we'd love to do dinner again too (though this time we'll work out the check with the restaurant in advance!
).
Anyway, we miss you and hope you'll consider attending.
Jeff

I have been to Belgium twice, and really enjoyed it. Brussels is a wonderful city. The first time I was there was at the end of April about 8 years ago, and the mussel season had just ended. I returned a couple years later, in October at the beginning of the season, and had a delicious time.Buffy wrote:Hopefully someday you'll come to Belgium.

Quite the bummer! His Usagi publications were just awesome. I really loved the covers he used on each issue, both the front covers with Stan's artwork, and the back covers featuring artwork by various Belguim / European artists.Stan Sakai wrote:Erik, my Belgian publisher, was at San Diego in 2010, and he told me he had ceased all publishing. He still has his comic book store, though.
Speaking of back covers by other artists, I really loved seeing Ryan Hill's artwork on the back cover of issue #139!

back cover 139
Couldn't agree more about the back cover of 139...just got mine and LOVED it. I will probably order an extra copy and frame it with some of my other favorites. How about we see what else he can do...keep em coming
How nice, I'm glad you had a nice time.Stan Sakai wrote: I have been to Belgium twice, and really enjoyed it. Brussels is a wonderful city. Did you try some Belgian chocolate while you where here?
Too bad the usagi publications stopped, those covers where indeed magnificant.
Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza.

WonderCon on March 16-18 in Anaheim has been added to the list.
Stump Town's dates are April 28-29
Dates for Planet Con in Kansas City are still unconfirmed. WonderCon announced their dates for mid-March, the same dates as Chicago. Chicago moved their con to April 14-15, the same dates as Planet Comic-con. Planet is now looking for new dates. Needless to say, I will not be able to attend if there is a personal conflict.
