We were watching "The Big Bang Theory" marathon last night-- and the episode where they decide to be the Justice League? While they're in the comic book store, I see a USAGI YOJIMBO poster! I pointed it out to my friend, but she missed it-- then they showed it again! I was very happy to see it. Have they used Usagi-san before?
Oh, and WHY, on a Usagi Yojimbo site, does the auto spell check keep underlining Usagi Yojimbo as being misspelled?

I never watched it until we went to Argentina, and they showed it on the English language station there--the same episode 4 times a day. The first episode I saw was the one you saw, with the Usagi poster. The second guest starred Stan Lee. The next one had the time machine from the Rod Taylor movie. I was hooked. When I returned I bought DVDs of the first 4 seasons.
However, it seems to be going downhill lately.

It can be a pretty funny show... but I have to say that as a nerd I find the nerdiness rather contrived, artificial. It bothers me too much for me to watch it regularly.
I think Community (and the characters of Troy and Abed in particular) is a show much truer to actual nerdiness... Of course, maybe I'm just biased because it's such a brightly positive portrayal! Perhaps I see bits of my own insufferableness in the Big Bang characters and long for the charming, adorable nature of the Community characters!
I think I need to lie down.

I don't like Leonard's relationship with Raj's sister, Priya (hope I spelled that right). She's annoying as heck. They need to get back to working on Leonard and Penny's relationship.Stan Sakai wrote: However, it seems to be going downhill lately.
I love the show. While some nerd/geek elements may be overdone, I've recognized some habits and attitudes from plenty of fanboys I've known over the years. Can't help but laugh and smile.

When they have showed the comic store, I try my best to peruse the background scenery. I find it most interesting that the majority of the material is DC-related although I have spotted some Dark Horse stuff like Hellboy.
But I missed the UY poster!

Have to go back and check for that.
There are a few more Usagi "cameos" throughout the series.
