Does that mean I shouldn't put in my guess?

1). Page 7

2). Bottom Panel

3). The crosses or "t" looking marks on the kimono of the villager 2nd from the right. I believe it looks like, or is part of, the kanji for the word "fan."

4). Fanfan

Okay, the contest is officially over. I guess it was harder than I thought it would be.

The answer:

First of all, the hint: On September 17 of the Dojo Main Forum, in the thread titled "Montreal--what to bring", I posted, "Thank you, Fanfan, for helping me with my inking."

http://usagiyojimbo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6001

Many of you got this.

The page on which he inked is: Page 3
It appears in: Panel 1
Specifically, he inked: The smallest rock
How can you tell Fanfan inked it? It has the initials "FF"

As far as the prize goes, I have decided to give out two sets of identical prizes for participating in this contest. Also, a third set will be sent to Fanfan for helping me, and for not posting specifically what he had done.

The first two Dojo members who had posted guesses--Steve and Go--will receive their T-shirts and other stuff in the mail.

There will be other contests, hopefully soon. I just learned, when I was in France, that a small Usagi Yojimbo tribute book had been published there. The first time I learned of it was when someone asked me to sign a copy. I expect to receive a couple soon. Also, I did a watercolor painting for the KatsuCon Program book. I hope to get a few of these as well.

Thank you all for participating.

Congrats guys. I thought Fanfan outlined the giant rock on the bottom of page 2 until he said his "ears" were burning. So I switched to looking at every set of ears in the book. I never would have noticed the FF on the next page.

Well, my posted answer was as far off from the correct answer as you could physically get in the comic. :D

The rock on the bottom of page 2 was my second choice, as well.

Even after breaking out the reading glasses, I completely overlooked those little "F's".

Thanks Stan, for the great contest and awesome prizes!

I don't have anymore T-shirts to give away, but I still have those postcard-size French prints, ALA badges and ribbons. I will be giving those away free to Dojo members at conventions. KatsuCon is a couple of weeks, and WonderCon is next month. If you are going to be there, contact me beforehand so I reserve one for you.

Cheers for the contest Stan... I'm also facepalming a little as I was looking at the rocks too as a possibility and completely overlooked the FF sign as well. Ah well, hopefully next time heh...

Stan if needed, i still have some french postcards to give away and perhaps a presentoir (i will check)

For my ears, sorry in french we have an expression when people are talking about you your ears are whistling, and in my dictionnary it was translaten burning

It was so much pressure to ink and a so wonderful gift of Stan that i choose the smallest rock, it would have been too hard to have spilled a page of Usagi ! but it was fun to be in this special Miyajima page because of the discussion we had about this wonderful place

Merci beaucoup Stan !
