Forum updated to phpBB 3

As you probably noticed by now, the forum doesn't exactly look like last week.

Some ... people ... with servers in Russia tried to get at your credit card data and passwords. See this post for details.

So we had to update the forum software to the latest and greatest. Which means a) we're (more) safe now but b) some stuff that you're used to (like the nice link menu we had to the left) is gone for now.

Please be patient while we try to recover lost gems from the remains of the old board.

In the short term, upgrading was the best option. Hopefully the template of the old forum can be recreated in due course, with the user details on the left, the avatars being reuploaded, and it being framed inside the main website. If you need any help Digulla, I'm sure I can find some folks who've already done this I can ask about what needs to be tweaked...

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying we appreciate all the effort all of the mods and admin put into this site & forum.
Hopefully things will get back to normal soon.

Yeah, default template for phpBB3 decided that they should go on the right. A couple of places on phpBB3 left them there, most have changed the template to put them back on the left.

I am liking the new admin features, I can just click on a user, and delete them AND all their spam posts in one go now

Lookin' cool! I miss the Usagi art, but the new layout and everything gives the forum a nice updated look and feel. I guess sometime in the next few days I should start poking around the admin / moderator functions so that I have some idea what's what if I do ever have to try and do something.

On a side note, now that image shack has limited the number of images that can be stored / uploaded on their free accounts, how hard would it be to add something of that sort to the Dojo web-site where Dojo members can upload and store images to be posted on the forum here? Just curious....

A little late, but I'd like to thank all involved for their great job at protecting/restoring the forum; this forum has been a wonderful place to contact people all over the world who share the joy of comics in general and Usagi Yojimbo especially.
