Wanted: Usagi Yojimbo HC 12: Grasscutter

Post by djt2445 »

I reckon this one is now the current hardest to find - I've got all the other Usagi HCs but this one, and am at a point where I'm trying to figure out what a good -price- to offer to buy one is because I have never seen this on sale. If someone has a copy to sell or can suggest a price range to offer, I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks,

David

It was the last hardcover I needed as well. I think I paid about $250 for it back then.

How long ago was this? I'm at a point where I'm almost ready to exceed that after a lot of checking around.

It was also the last HC I aquired (not counting new releases), but I lucked out and was offered one for sale by another Dojo member who was selling off his collection. It tends to be harder to find and more expensive, probably because it was the book which won Stan his Eisner Award. Best of luck in your search.

PS
Make sure you do not accidently get sold a "Library Edition" hardcover!

Yeah, my thoughts are the same as those of Steve. It's the story series that won an Eisner, and there's only 350 copies of it. Hence it's in demand and harder to find than many other hardcovers. Having said that, I paid more for h/c #3 but I consider that one to be the second hardest to find!

Ah, you won that copy? Congrats. I had seen the UK seller with a number of h/c up for sale.

Thanks. Just went for the buy it now option, considering I remember someone mentioned spending 250 dollars (Mayhem, apparently, looking at it) and didn't want to dither with the Make Offer that someone already tried.

Got all the Usagi hardcovers now. Even got Mr. Sakai to sign the Yokai and the Art of Usagi Yojimbo at a convention... guess I should lug out that 2-volume Special Edition set to the next local con Mr. Sakai makes it out to!

Now I just have to wait for vol 29...

Congratulations!

Grasscutter is one that is still on my list, along with a few others at that end of the issues.
