Usagi in TMNT 2012

Post by Gator_Dave »

Dose anyone know if Usagi is going to make an appearance in the new 2012 TMNT series on Nick?
Has Stan been approached by either Viacom or Kevin Eastman? Does Stan have a standing relation
with Kevin Eastman like he does with Peter Laird? I feel like it would be very beneficial for
Usagi to be in this new show, seeing how it's getting tons of exposure. Which would generate
new fans and readers for Usagi. And I would really like for the relationship between the turtles
and Usagi carry on, especially the camaraderie between Usagi and Leonardo. I would
also love to see Usagi in the new TMNT art style, and a new action figure would be fantastic.
I'm sure if Stan approached Viacom or even Eastman he could get Usagi on board, and who knows
Maybe it could even set Usagi up for a spin off.

I think it's about time Usagi had his own show.

... of course I'd settle for a movie. Did anyone else get Usagi pangs while watching Rango? Especially the bar sequence.
Even if the breath between us smells of alcohol,
Call it confusion in the best way possible.

first of, I have never heard of a movie or show named rango, methinks me should check it out...;)
but I can only support the first post here, loved to see usagi in that show as well...even in the toy line again...
a movie maybe directed one day by john landis?;)who is a great fan and a friend to stan...;)

but, to be honest for me personally usagi doesn't have to get his own show or movies, the special thing to me about this world is that it is engined by only one mind, stan's...this keeps the consistency of the quality and lets all these characters grow naturally and stay true to themselves..I just LOVE this world that myamoto usagi inhabits and all the other characters and i think maybe someone could immitate that for a show or movie in the best of scenarios but not give me something I would feel as engaged about as one of senseis stories...
so for my personal taste, do these things if the opportunity arises but give me the original comic ANY DAY...q.e.d.;)

While that would be cool, I feel that usagi should have his own animated movie. A stand alone story/quest would be nice.

I think those responses are a little off topic. I guess no one knows the answers to the questions I'm
asking here. Isn't Stan Sakai active on this forum? I would really like to hear what Stan feels about getting
Usagi on the new show, not selling rights to Viacom, just letting them let Usagi crossover just like with Mirage.
I first met Stan at Astro Zombies in Albuquerque NM in 2010 while I was visiting family I heard he would be in town and
extended my stay to see one of my all time Idols. There I asked Stan if Usagi and the Turtles would ever cross paths
again now that Viacom has the rights and he replied with "probably not." I saw Stan again a year later at the 2011
Arizona Comic Con, where I gave stan a gift, two hand made clay figures I sculpted of Stray Dog and Gen. Stan was
happy to receive the gifts. I unfortunately forgot to ask him if things had changed with the chance of a cross over.

Usagi will not be guest starring in the TMNT TV series.

But he might be in the IDW comic series?(knduge, knudge, wink, wink, say no more, say no more) Or is there a lot of legal stuff that would prevent IDW being able to have a Dark Horse charcter in TMNT 2012?

The newest TMNT episode 14: "New Girl In Town" female ninja Karai shows Leonardo the sword of Miyamoto Musashi. She wants them to steal it but Leo says that wouldn't be right to do.

This show has many references to past TMNT media, and I think this is a cool reference to Leo's old friend Miyamoto Usagi.

Well no. Musashi is just revered by some as the greatest samurai to ever live. Out of respect for the man he wouldn't steal. Remember Usagi is based off of Musashi.
