Creepy #11 Pin-up
I'm doing a pin-up for the inside front cover to Creepy #11 from Dark Horse. Since this will be out in February, it will have a Valentine theme. I took my inspiration from the poster of Brett and Scarlet from Gone With the Wind. Of course, this piece will also be printed in my next sketchbook.

Cool!
Will it have an anthropomorphic and/or samurai theme as well?

No. It will be pure horror, but someone will have a cameo appearance.
Re: Creepy #11
Can't wait to see some straight-up horror from your pen. You've experimented with it time and again in USAGI YOJIMBO, but this sounds as if it'll be something else entirely. My own favourite horror artists are Junji Ito, Bernie Wrightson, and Kazuo Umezu; are they among your influences?Stan Sakai wrote:No. It will be pure horror, but someone will have a cameo appearance.Steve Hubbell wrote:Cool!![]()

Hmmmmm. I don't see the cameo. Anyone else see it? Is this one of those covers with someone getting hit by a fish? ;) Peace, maka

I was unable to spot (recognize) anyone that could qualify as a cameo....
(Unless Stan was referring to Uncle Creepy himself)

Oh, I see him (hint) now! Take a closer look, I don't want to spoil it.

I see a very familiar looking grin, but the face making it doesn't look familiar....

And here I thought I'd never see a Gone With the Wind/Kwaidan crossover...
