Yeah, that makes it even tougher to swallow! :) The book looks fantastic and is a great tribute to Stan and his legacy. Well deserved. (I really like that latest one by Matt Slay....wow!).

Oh bummer!

I have thought of a possible plan to aquire a copy of the yearbook through someone who will be attending the convention, but also getting them to go around and get all the artists to sign it as well might be way too much to ask of them. :(

I was actually looking forward to seeing Frank Cho's contribution....

Yeah, I'll be mentioning this to my mate, and whether his friend who is going is up for doing that as well.

Questions, questions and more questions.... :?

I really want to get one of these books.

Do you think the con will sell multiple volumes to a single buyer?

Would any con attendees be willing to do a group buy for Dojo members?

Does anyone know the price of the book?

Should we start a list of prospective buyers?

I'd be willing to put down a down payment or full payment in advance if someone would do a group buy.

It looks like the Baltimore Comic Con will be using my cover art for their T-shirt design.

So there's a chance...... I signed up for the mailing list - now I just hope there are enough books left over & I (we) find out about them before they sell out!

Thanks for posting this. I also signed up. I'll probably still buy one off of eBay if I get the chance.

Stan Sakai wrote:I have just been told that Frank Cho's piece, along with a couple others', will not be in the book. They will be made as prints, and will be available as a sort of Easter Egg. Those who buy the book at the con can get the creators to sign them. For every 10 signatures they will get their choice of prints that they can keep in the book as a tip-in.
Gah, not the autograph hunt again! Sure, it was fun, but I made the mistake of offering to buy last year's Baltimore Con book honoring Frank Cho's "Liberty Meadows" for Frank's forum members, and then when they announced the autograph thing AT the show, I ended up having to schlep 20 copies of the book around to as many artists as I could (while also not appearing to be an eBay flipper), then had to divvy up those copies between the 30 or so orders I had from people. The people who didn't get autographed copies ended up getting some of the prints they gave out for the autographs.

Look forward to seeing you (and the book) at the show, Stan!
